Hot Lips

This is a lip mask. A lip mask is a new (ish) way for hydrating your lips. Just like sheet masks hydrate your face. I’ve been using lip masks from various different K Beauty brands for a couple of years and use them pretty regularly on my self care days.

Lush says on their Uk website “

DESCRIPTION

“Softer, smoother lips are a must whether it’s Valentine’s Day or not, because who doesn’t want kissable lips all the time? Hot Lips is made with loads of glycerin so it’s mega hydrating, while natural ground bamboo stem extract delivers a super-fine polish to scrub away any unwanted dry bits. Plus, it tastes like sweet cherries. But don’t take our word for it; ask a willing friend to try it out.

And this is their instructions for use on the uk lush online purchase product website.

HOW TO USE

“Designed for one-time use, simply pop the mask over your lips and let the ingredients to get to work for a few minutes. Once you’re done, buff the product across your lips until you feel the bamboo. Then, lick your lips or rinse away any residue.”

The scent of this lip mask is so good. It smells like another Valentines product from two years ago called ‘Kiss Me Quick’. It’s what i would call a lipstick mixed with cherry. I love the smell.

So on to how it works. So i unpacked it from its little envelope.

It feels nice. I noticed it doesn’t have any liquid, or gel, nor any kind of serum on it or in it.

I thought that was different for a lip mask. The ones i’ve tried weren’t dry like this. At the very least it shoulve been damp. So it wouldn’t stick to my lips whatsoever. Lush’s instructions say to ‘put it on your lips for a few minutes’ and let it moisturize or hydrate yoyr lips.

So since it didnt dtay on i tried just holding it in place with my hand. I even tried it lying down so it would stay on my lips.

Nothing happens. Literally nothing. My lips were dry just like they were before i put the mask on.

There wasnt even any product on my lips. There wasnt even any residue! How is this even possible?

I tried wetting it a little bit. Nope. No change. Still didnt stick to my lips.

Im so confused as to how this works.

Hmm. There was what looked like liquid or color that seeped into the envelope that it was in. Maybe thats the issue? Dunno.

It sure is cool looking in the sun!

I dont know its possible im just being dumb but i didnt really get it. 🤷🏽‍♀️Id rate it a 2 out of 5 rating.

Heres my Demo video i nade for you showing how it looks and feels close up.

Maple Taffy

This has a slight smell of maple. The taste is alright, very light taste of maple. Nice consistency.

Ingredients:
Extra Virgin Coconut oil, Maple Syrup, Japan Wax, Shea Butter, Illipe Butter, Carnauba Wax, Flavour, Glycerine
*Occurs naturally in essential oils

Lush Times: We’ve got a special Christmas treat for our Canadian friends with our deliciously tasty Maple Taffy lip balm. Inspired by the tradition of tapping maple sap and making sweet candy treats from it, Helen thought we should create a moisturising balm using real maple syrup. The taste of this balm is unbelievably moreish. Mixed in with the syrup, we’ve added Japan and carnauba waxes with extra virgin coconut oil to form a moisturising layer on the lips and keep them safe from the nip of winter. Maple syrup is a good source of manganese and zinc. The syrup has a very distinctive flavour and there have been many attempts to make a similar synthetic flavour, but we prefer to use the natural maple syrup.
