Love Island

This is a new product for Valentines 2023. My short Tub Demo Video is coming and will be attached to this post shortly.

This is a Lush bath melt. Lush has had many different designs of bath melts through the yearsz This Love Island bath melt is reminiscent of their original cupcake shaped bath melts. Their most famous cupcake type is called ‘Floating Island’. So tou can see the play on words of ‘Love Island.

Floating island is a dessert. And Love Island is the name of a reality show in England about couples on an island.

The scent if Love Island is that of the Lush Keep it Fluffy’ Lush has made the perfume a few times throughout the years since 2004 when they opened their sister company ‘B Never Too Bust To Be Beautiful’.

The fragrance is a floral and fruity combination made with rose, lemon, jasmine, bergamot.

Lush has created many kinds of different products in the scent. Their sister company B Never also made candles, incense, liquid bath oil, bath powder, etc.

The Love Island bath melt spins around the tub 😊

This bath melt’s scent isnt very strong. Its nice, but it could be stronger imo.

The bath melt is a rose color with tiny silver sparkle mixed throughout.

I would give this a 4 out of 5. Mostly because i love the shape, the look, and the scent.

Karma bath melt pyramid

30g

Karma scent

Ingredients: Cocoa Butter. Laureth 4, Gold Sparkles, Almond Oil, Perfume, Patchouli Oil , Orange Oil , Lavendin Oil , Pine Oil , Lemongrass Oil , Elemi Oil , Gardenia Extract.

Review: This is a pyramid shaped (the one on the left is a little less pyramid-like LOL), it has gold glitter and smells of Lush’s signature “Karma” scent. This is a wonderful smelling and skin softening melt. It has tns of cocoa butter. You simply put it in the bath water after it’s filled and it melts with the hot water and leaves little trails of beautiful golden glitter. You can also smoosh it up under the running water while the bath is filling up too. It’ll work either way. But beware…it has LOADS of glitter. You will have glitter everywhere (including your friends clothing, your dog and your husband) for a couple of days. I loved this melt and I wish it were still around.

Yuletide 2001 Lush Times description: Fake perfumes are so good these days that city dwellers have almost lost the ability to appreciate real scents what with the synthtic smells of coffee, bread and burgers pumped out to attract us to use their sources. There are some very beautiful synthetic perfumes (and there’s even one in Karma) but we prefer the real thing, perfumes made from flowers just like the great, great, great, great, great grandfather would have done if he hadn’t been too busy diggeing coal. Why? Because we don’t just use them for the scent; we use them for the effect on the mind and body. This is why a Bath Melt scented with Karma is so lovely; it softens and moisturizes your skin as well as scenting it. Try our new little pyramid of perfume in your bath and feel what we mean….

some have scents that Lush has used in othe

These were first introduced in the Lush Labs website as ‘bath baubles’ months ago. At that time i purchased a couple of each. There were 10-12 different ones.

For Christmas 2019 Lush has reintroduced some of the 10-12 bath baubles as ‘bath tablets’. Basically theyre solid bath oils. Similar in ingredients to the regular, smaller, round solid bath oils that Lush sells all year round in stores and on line. The small round solid bath oils float on top of the water and are shimmery with bright, vivid colors.

These bath tablets are similar in ingredients to those but are flat and rectangular, also being quite a bit larger.

Theyre made with cocoa butter and various other nut and fruit butters. They are moisturizing. These tabkets dont float however. They just sink to the bottom. They just fail to put on the dazzling show of the small round bath oils.

These bath tablets also dont color the water very well. In my demo video i used a whole one and the water was barely colored.

These larger, solid bath oils tablets also make the tub very slippery if youre not careful.

They make my dry skin feel moisturized. And some of them are in scent families that i quite like. Thats about all i can say. While they look cute before use, and smell good, they just don’t excite me.

Year before last, for Christmas, lush had the ‘Snow Fall’ solid bath oil. It was round, white, simmery, had the most glorious winter scent and looked like actual white powdery snow falling in the water. Now THAT was very nice.

Ill take the smaller, round bath oils any day over these bath tablets.

The Snowman is lemony. Why not minty?

I Want a Pony

5 out of 5 rating

See my 2 minute tub demo below.

I Want a Pony bath oil is one of 350 new products introduced at the new Lush Megastore in liverpool spa.

It was made with the scent of “The Comforter”, which has cassis, black currant and bergamot. Lush has made many products in this popular scent, starting with the bubble bar in 2006.

It doesnt have that odd note that is in some comforter products. No, this is just smooth berrylicous goodness.

Its made with cocoa butter and other good for your dry skin things.

It leaves a soft pink colored water. No sparkle.

I love this!

Heres a video of it melting in the hot bath water.

Dont order this during the hot months or it may arrive melted.

Careful getting out of the tub as it may be a bit more slippery

Tree D

4 out of 5 rating. Made with the Ectoplasm bath bomb fragrance of tangeeine, grapefruit and litsea cubeba.. see my tub demo below.

I love that this is a 3D bath melt of a tree. Thus the name ‘Tree D’. We can use one piece or both pieces for one bath.

I’m full on addicted to this citrussy scent.

Lush Bath Oils-New

See my bath oil video demo list of 20 new Lush bath oils. I’ve done video demos of all 19. The links to each of those tub demo videos are in the below list

A fabulous way to get a good amount of our favorite fragrances in a small package.  It’s small but it makes a gorgeous show in the tub.  Adding color and in some cases shimmer.  The fragrances are stronger and last longer on the skin than in other things like bath bombs and bubble baths.

I have all of them, so as i use each one i’ll make videos and take photos that you can watch via the links below.

Star Light, Star Bright

One of only three or four lush products ever, that are all silver.
This has lime and ginger, so it smells bright. And the silver shimmer in the water is awesome.

The shea butter fondant centre inside this bath melt is rich and moisturising, creating a soft and creamy bath. When the star melts, its silvery lustre spreads into the water creating a magical trail of starlight. Refreshing ginger and zesty lime oil inspire positivity and will also give you an extra boost. Close your eyes, make a wish, crush this melt under running water and watch as your bath turns into a turquoise, silvery pool of star light.

Here’s a demo video of this

Johnny Appleseed

See my demo video below.

It has a great apple scent!

We don’t want to put ideas in your head, so we’ll just plant a seed. Why not pop this fruity green treat in the bath? An apple a day will send troubles away as you sow uplifting neroli, bright lemon and Brazilian orange oils into the water. Make it the apple of your eye.

Melt warning: this product is made with ingredients which allow it to soften at  body temperature, and so it prefers not to be posted to hot, sunny climates.

Something Wicked This Way Comes bath melt

4 out of 5 rating

Something Wicked bath melt

From the title of a Ray Bradbury novel/screenplay/movie.

Review:  Having a real ginger root scent, and not that of Gingerbread.  The ginger is softened by lovely Jasmine and almond oil.  This is a good blend of ginger and jasmine. The oakmoss lending that “spooky’ quality from the story of the same name.  If it’s a fresh Something Wicked bathmelt you can smell the layers of scent, pretty floral, earthy oakmoss,  spicy  ginger.    That said, i wish there were more scent.  I’ve had a few that were stronger and the scent was very nice.  But the weaker scented melts have to be brought up to the nose in order to smell them.

It makes a GORGEOUS color pattern in the water if it’s a fresh one, as you can see in my photo below.

Lush UK also made a Something Wicked Lotion and perfume for forum members only in 2009 or 2010.  It was SO good.

Ingredients: Cocoa Butter, Almond Oil, Perfume, Ginger Oil, Jasmine Absolute, Oakmoss Absolute.

Lush Times 2006 description: Possibly the Queen of our new bath melt selection. Ginger and jasmine envelope you in a sensual haze of soft, warm, welcoming swirls of glittery, moisturising foam. Wicked in every sense of the word.

This is what the Something wicked melt looked like one year only during halloween 2008, with a dark pink red glitter.

Below is a special dark pink glittery one that Lush made only one year for Halloween/Christmas time in the mid 2000’s

Here’s an 8 second video showing my something wicked perfume.

The latest addition to this scent family is an exclusive shower bomb (there two in the picture) made in the Lush Labs 2018.

Monsieur Gustave

5 out of a 5 rating.  See my tub demo and review video below.

Monsiuer Gustave, A delightful character in the movie “The Grand Budapest Hotel’ , Monsiuer Gustave bath oil has the popular Lush perfume “Cocktail” scent.  I love the color sooo much.  And the subtle sweet tobacco scent mixes with the rose oil and herb-y lavender, making a fun, bright floral.  The final color of the bath water is a gorgeous fushia purple.  Those of you who remember Lush London boutique called “B Never” will remember the scent of “Cocktail‘ of which Monsiuer Gustave is made from.

Lush description:  L’air du panache.  Without question, without fail, and invariably, exceedingly lovely.

Ingredients:  Organic shea butter, fair trade organic cocoa butter, lavender oil, extra virgin coconut oil, perfume, organic jojoba oil, rose absolute, tobacco absolute, purple lustre.

I cutie in half so you can see what it looks like on the inside, but i used the whole thing in the bath for this video.

Snow Melt

This is one of my favoties of the 20+ bath oils Lush has made. This one was a Lush Uk exclusive for one day.

In my photo below im showing what i had in my Winter bath cocktail. I had 1 Lush Abombinaball Snowman bath bomb, some Lush Snow Showers jelly, and a Lush Snow Melt. They each have three different scent fragrances.

Remember your first snow and the joy of catching flakes on gloves. Frosty, stimulating peppermint oil swirls with bright Sicilian lemon to recreate the crisp air. Fair Trade Organic cocoa and Organic illipe and shea butters soften skin and transform the water for creamy, snow white bliss.

I absolutely love this bath oil. This actually ‘snows’ in the bath water.  I’ve never seen any of Lush’ new bath oils do what Snow Melt bath oil does.  And the scent of this is gorgeous.  It’s a tiny bit sweet, and minty, and it has a wonderful, fresh smell, just like real snow!

Here’s a video i made of the Snow Melt demo in the bath.  It actually ‘snows”!

Elixir bath melt

This was always a favorite of mine.  It’s like Ceridwen’s Cauldron bath met, but more exotic smelling.  It has one of my faovrite spices-Cardamom- and rose petals and ginger oil.  It was both yummy and gorgeous.

There was also an Elixir bubble bar, which was also beautiful in the bath.

And the blue is  a limited edition one i got for the Lush Holidays years ago.

Ginger bath oil melt

2 out of 5 rating

See my bath demo video of this below

Ginger is a white gold color, unlike the coppery gold color of one of the other lush bath oils.  Ginger is a strong, spicy floral scent.  It is not sweet whatsoever.  It is a strong floral.  Lush has made many products in the past with this same “Ginger” scent. See Ginger soap, Ginger perfume, Ginger lotion, Ginger dusting powder, Ginger man soap, Bad Ass shower gel, Ginger Kat.  I have one, and when i use it i will record it and upload the video to you tube and then post it here too.

gingerbathoilad

This is so pretty.  Too bad i don’t care for the fragrance of it.  Too spicy and too strong of a rose smell.

Floating Island bath oil

2.5 out of 5 rating

I like the original floating island bath melt pictured below and i wish they would have kept that style instead of this one.  That one was more foamy and creamy.  However, i will say that this new bath oil style is more moisturizing than the original cupcake style Floating Island.

Floating Island has a lemon and sandalwood scent.  It’s the same scent as the lush bath melt of the same name.  Lush also made a shower smoothie with this scent called “Whitewash”.  The scent in this bath oil is stronger, really nice.  It’s a subtle scent though, don’t expect a big bold fragrance.  Very very moisturizing to my skin in the bath.  This is great for people with dry skin.

http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y181/lush-a-lot/lush-a-lot001/floatingisladbathoil_zpsoav9otqm.jpg

A round, solid bath oil.  Since April 2015 this has only been available if you lived in London and could go to the new Oxford Street ‘superstore’.  Now it is available on the lush.co.uk site for anyone to buy no matter what country we live in.

This bath oil wss discontinued a few years later, along with 20 other bath oils at the same time. 🤷🏽‍♀️

Here’s a video demo i made of the Floating Island bath oil in the tub

Double Vitality

3 out of 3 rating

see my tub demo video of this below

Double Vitality is one of two pink, star-shaped bath oils at Oxford Street.  This one is a sandwhich type, 2 pink stars put together with a cream filling. Double Vitality smells like peppermint and lemon.

img_1475

I like the star-shaped “I am a Radiant Being’ bath oil more than this Double Vitality, but this is nice. img_1446

Here are the two different smelling bath oils, which are both pink and both star-shaped, but i put them side by side so you can see the slight differences in style as well as scent.

Double vitality is on the left.
