Trip the light fantastic and create a spectacle in your shower with this colourful creation to lift your mood and polish your skin to perfection. Buff your way to softness with sugar and fine sea salt, while potato starch leaves you feeling silky. An uplifting blend of zesty Sicilian lemon oil and invigorating spearmint oil combine with pineapple powder for an enzymic burst of freshness as bright as the Northern Lights. Break off a piece and hold under running water for a scrubby paste that you can gently work over wet skin to feel strokably smooth.
The spearmint isnt that strong i must say but its blended nicely with the mint. Its not very sweet. It almost smells like a citrus floral to me.
Youre supposed to pinch a piece off instead of trying to wet the whole bar. I show how in my video sink demo below.
Lush Mallow Drama bubble bar from the Lush Harajuku store 100 bubble bars drop has the same scent.
Below is a photo i took which was a scent family. Lush has made more products in the same scent that are not in this photo. 😊 You can see the You Snap the Whip bar on the left.
Lush 2005 description: When Helen Ambrosen invented the Soft Coeur massage bar it was called Soft Centre but it got renamed the Soft Coeur by the creative team. At the same time is was suggested that we should have Hard Core bar with exfoliating, ground pumice stone inside for people who like to treat themselves severely. Little did we think that Helen would actually come back with the actual article. You Snap the Whip is her hard core, coal black body butter for soft, strokeable, blackcurrant scented skin. It smells of blackcurrants because one of the creative team was constantly piping up about having her favourite massage bar brought back; those of you who remember Cherie Ripe’s dark, smooth, sensual, fruity fragrance will want to have a weekly You Snap the Whip scrub. (At least). Those of you who are too young to remember it but who like the idea of scrubbing with a moisturising, macadamia nut oil, seriously exfoliating, cleansing charcoal bar which smells like Ribena will have to race us to the shops. To use it stroke the bar over your skin when it’s wet and rinse off thoroughly in the bath or shower.

The first time I tried this I fell for it. To me it smells like some kind of wonderful baked good. Cardamom is not in alot of lush products. And i have always LOVED cardamom. (Lush Rangoli Dreams bath bomb has it) Its so moisturizing that it makes my skin feel, a tad greasy. So i use it for my forearms and my legs only. I’m mad for this bar. Sometimes i keep a bar on my bedside table so i can smell it while i go to sleep and it’s the first thing i wake up to in the morning. The scent is so good to me that the scent takes it up to a five out of five.
Lush 2006 Description: Our Soft Touch Body Butter is made with plant oils and butters to soften your skin and keep your hands smooth and seriously moisturised. Let it melt generously into your hands at night and leave it there for the nutritious coconut butter, beeswax and cocoa butter to work miracles while you sleep, then wake up to the touch of soft, vanilla scented fingertips. If you share your life with a partner it’s a very good idea to make sure that you keep their hands nicely buttered up with Soft Touch too. For your nails we make an infusion of cleavers (goose grass) and horsetail herb because they are full of silicones. We mash up fresh, organic mangoes to feed your skin because they are the most nutritious fruit in existence. (You’ll notice that they are cropping up in lots of our products). We put in beautiful oils like wheatgerm and avocado to protect and moisturise your hands. Keep it by your bedside and remember it last thing at night. You’ll be glad you did first thing in the morning.
The solid shower oil ‘Vertical Abyanga’ has the same scent.
How To Use: Apply THE SOFT TOUCH to the hands and finger cuticles by rubbing the bar between your hands. Body Butters are designed to melt at body temperatures – please keep them out of direct sunlight and somewhere cool! This is a square, solid cocoa butter with ground almond shells for exfoliation. It has a rose, almond, sandalwood scent. I like it. I bought one every now and then.
How to use: You take a shower with soap or shower gel as usual, then after rinsing, rub this (not too hard) on your skin all over, and then rinse off in warm/hot water. That’s it!
Lush 2005 descrption: “The Aqua Mirabilis is now even more of a miracle. New, improved Aqua Mirabilis is BIGGER! (yeah its bigger but no apricot kernel oil and fizzing marigold foam on top like the original).
Hooray! Now you can scrub generously all over and not worry about it running out before you reach your toes. If you ever treat yourself and get a scrub at a spa, the beauty therapists expect to exfoliate away huge swathes of dead skin. If you regularly give yourself an Aqua Mirabilis softening scrub, with its gently exfoliating ground almond shells, they are astonished to find that you’ve already got lovely, soft, fresh, healthy skin with hardly a dead grey cell there at all. The Aqua Mirabilis turns your bath or your shower into an instant, bargain body therapy. We make it with sandalwood and rose perfumes to soften your skin, cocoa butter and apricot kernel oil to moisturise it, plus natural ground almonds to scrub you even softer. You will feel fantastic after using one of these. Promise.”
Review: The original products called “Aqua Mirabilis Underwater Massage bar did triple duty; scrub, melt, massage, ballistic. It was very small and dainty, like something fairies would make. It had apricot oil peach colored ballistic ‘crust’ which would fizz in the bath, and some sprinkles of marigold flowers on the top and also had marigold flowers mixed up in the coco butter inner layer. And it smelled of real roses and sandalwood. I like the original MUCH better. Suffice it to say it took a few years for me to use of these redesigned body butter squares. If you have dry or bumpy skin I would suggest this Aqua Mirabilis scrub or the other square scrub called Buffy the Backside Slayer. Aqua Mirabilis does make ones skin incredibley soft and smooth.
Though i cant forgive Lush for destroying my Preciousss…I do like these cocoa butter scrub squares much better than those harder, dome shaped sugar scrubs that Lush has also made.
Here is what the original “Aqua Mirabilis Underwater Massage Bar looked like.
$12.95 This one above i bought from the Lush Kitchen Subscription box November 2021.
It was made originally for one or two years only as a limited edition for Christmas in 2014 or thereabouts.
Salt And Peppermint Bark is here to sweetly
soften your skin this holiday. Over half of each
bar is sea salt for some serious seasonal
scrubbing! Tropical cocoa and cupuacu
butters will soften and condition the skin while
you scrub, to leave you feeling silky smooth.
This is one of very few Lush solid body scrubs that i like. Its made with salt for exfoliatiin purposes. So ifyou have bumps on your upper arms or if you have areas that are rough and dry the cocoa butter will soften and salt will exfoliate those rough spots away.
Its got a nice creamy, slightly sweet peppermint scent.
This is what the solid version looked like. Lush made it this way for some years, and then they went back to the liquid kind in the black pot again.
I love the scrub. It’s one of Lush’ prettier square body scrubs. It has the mimosa flower, Cherry Blossom scent of their popular ‘Sakura’ bath bomb. A feminine scent. The exfoliating is enhanced by the moisturizing Cocoa butter which leaves skin sooo soft afterwards.
You just wash in the shower as usual, with soap or shower gel, then rinse off. Then you scrub the rough parts of your body like knees, elbows, legs, etc. Then simply rinse off in the shower and dry yourself off, that’s it. The lovely and natural floral scent lingers on my skin for a couple hours. I would suggest this.
Mimosa flowers. I knew this smell right away, I used to walk around these trees at my fathers house that had the fuzzy lavender colored flowers on it and the smell was heavenly. A sweet yet powdery flower the mimosa. It is lavender in color and fuzzy like a soft pink brush. Sometimes it smells like a light melon scent too. Mimosa is what the “Sakura” and “Rub Rub Rub” is scented with.
Lush made this shower gel alooooong time ago for users on their customer forum website. The bottles were extra large. Im glad i bought a couple of bottles.
Such a pretty color
Mother Superior bubble bar, Sakura bath bomb,
I took a photo of these rub rub rub/sakura scented products below. There are a couple of other products that lush released a few years after this photo was taken such as the ‘naked version of the scrub’
This was made in 2014, sold in stores in the UK and US and online, and was discontinued in 2017 or so.
It was voted for and remade again June 2021 for the Lush UK subscription box. It’s a square of solid cocoa butter with sugar for exfoliation. It was made with the Lush ‘Lord of Misrule’ scent which is made with vanilla, black pepper and patchouli.
.
I liked it.
You use it in the shower after soaping up and rinsing off. Then you just rinse off with warm water.
If you’ve tried this-did you like it? Or not so much?
I voted for this, mostly because i love the scent of LOM.
I added a couple of my Lord of Misrule scent family pictures
Here’s a video i made of how to use this and what it’s like 😉
