Confetti perfume

I made a video describing this scent. The video is below, just go to 7:32 in the video for Confetti.

Confetti                                €90/£70 for 100ml

Emma’s initial workings were based on Rose, Violet, Coffee and Pear as a combination. Rowena smelt the perfume and thought it smelt of Sugar Almonds (a pastel coloured candy Almond – Usually found as a gift on the table at British Weddings). In Italy they have the same tradition for celebratory events and the Sugar Almonds are known as Confetti – which was a perfect fit …so much so, that this will be Emma’s signature scent for her wedding in 2020.

Ingredients: Violet leaf absolute, Rose oIl, sandalwood oil

QI: DRF Alcohol, Perfume, Alpha-Isomethyl ionone, Water (Aqua), Glycerine, Geraniol, Rose Oil (Rosa damascena), Violet Leaf Absolute (Viola odorata), Sandalwood Oil (Santalum austro-caledonicum vieill), *Benzyl Alcohol, *Benzyl Benzoate, *Benzyl Cinnamate, *Cinnamal, *Citral, *Citronellol, *Eugenol, *Farnesol, *Limonene, *Linalool

Olfactory description: The three stages of relationships are featured in this perfume. The innocent of violet leaf, like the beginnings of all relationships. The sensuality and deepness of love from the Roses and the comforting solidity of all marriages provided by the sandalwood oil. Sweet and floral.

Lush Grassroots perfume

5 out of 5 rating

What a surprise to get this in the mail. 😱

Only sold at the Lush Italy Perfume Library.

As i show in the video below, the wrap that this was wrapped in at the store is gorgeous. A beautiful burnished rose print and So silky.

This perfume was made in the Charity pot lotion scent, but at a very high concentration (it’s a strong perfume).

scent family

It’s a Proper Eau de Parfum, with loads of regenerative ingredients from different projects.

Geranium from Kenya, Rosewood Oil from Peru, Ylang Ylang oil from Ghana, and Vanilla from madagascar.

And the unique Scent Cube made with sustainable cork as a lid.

It’s got a slightly sweet chocolatey note, with a soft blanket of ylang ylang, and a lovely, slight woodiness.

Sparkly Pumpkin

These new body sprays come to Lush USA December 17 2020.

I demo and review this in my video below.

Sparkly Pumpkin is one of five body sprays that won the voting process from ten fragrances that we voted on. I didn’t vote for this one 🙂 That said, i do like the bubble bar that it’s named after. I just wanted to vote for the others more is all.

The bubble bar that this fragrance is made from smells more like fruit punch than the body spray. To me the Sparkly Pumpkin body spray seems fruity but with a slight floral/flowery, spicy note. It’s nice, just not as fruit punch-like as the Sparkly pumpkin bubble bar and the Mr. Punch soap.

lush description of the bubble bar:

At the end of a long day, pop this Sparkly Pumpkin into the bath. As you crumble its golden shimmeryness under running water, you’ll feel instantly re-energized. An uplifting blend of juniperberry, grapefruit and lime oils will fill the room with an enticing, cocktail-like punch. And as you sink deep under the glittering gold water, you won’t be able to keep from smiling – probably because this little pumpkin is made to make every day bright.

Mr Punch soap-same scent

In my photo below is the Lush exclusive ‘Sparkly Pumpkin Slime’.

juniper bush with its berries

Unlike some perfumes or body sprays sparkly pumpkin’s fragrance stays pretty much the same when it dries down as when it’s first sprayed. It’s got a decent amount of throw also., even after having dried a bit.

I like this Sparkly pumpkin body spray. I would rate this a 4 out of 5. It smells more like a grown up version of fruit punch 😉

Here’s a video i made reviewing, demoing and describing each of the five exclusive body sprays, including sparkly pumpkin.

Frangiapani

This perfume smells so good when i first spray it on. The white flowers in it are sweet and frarant on my arm. It smells so fresh and gorgeous.

here’s a video where i review the new exclusive Lush ‘Perfume Library’ perfumes including Frangiapani. Go to 26:42 in the video for the Fragiapani perfume review and description.

Fresh As

4 out of 5 rating

Fresh As perfume

Whereas i expected to love the more expensive fragrances of the bunch and it turned out i didn’t, i decided to buy Fresh As even though the ingredients didnt necessarily grab me. As irony woukd have it-Fresh As is my favorite of the five.

It smells as if Lush Needles & Pine shower jelly, Lush Guardian of the Forest , and Lush Princess Cottongrass perfume had a baby.

The fragrance of it is light and airy. It smells less like a forest and more like a meadow. Its not earthy its green and airy and gorgeous.

It smells just as beautiful when its wet as when it’s dry.

Welcome to the wilderness. With bracing fir needle absolute and hints of balsamic benzoin resinoid you’ll soon be feeling fresh as…

Revitalising fir and tagetes oils mingle in each vivid spritz to surround you with the bracing draw of nature. If any scent can embody the freshest of forests, snapping sticks underfoot and the warmth of a snugly scarf, then this is it.

You’ll love this if you like:

– Herbaceous fir.
– Karma perfume.
– Refreshing forest walks.

For a limited time only, 30ml bottles of this perfume will be available to order online. This perfume and the rest of The Florence Collection are also available in 100ml bottles in your nearest perfume library. “

Sappho

2 out of 5 rating

in addition to my photos below i could have sworn i did a review video of Sappho while spraying it on me, but i cant find it on my youtube channel. ill keep looking.

“For a limited time only, 30ml bottles of this perfume will be available to order online. This perfume and the rest of The Florence Collection are also available in 100ml bottles in your nearest perfume library.”

Sappho is one of five perfumes which are only sold at the Florence, Italy Perfume Library store. But Lush Uk has them temporarily on their retail site uk.lush.com

I happened to be on the site looking at the mothers day products and saw them there!

I wanted to like Sappho so much. I bought it because the ingredients vanilla, jasmine, sandalwood, tonka, orris, tobacco and anise. so it seemed perfect.

List of ingredients

Especially when the description said this:

You’ll love this if you like:
– Powdery vanilla scents.
Vanillary perfume.
– Sunny sapphic sensuality on a Greek island.

But when i spray it on, it smells great for a minute then these note come through thats like spiced, jasmine and tobacco and this overrides the lovely vanilla quality. On me though. Your mileage may vary depending on each person’s skin chemistry.

If the underlying licorice-like note wasnt there it would be so good, but unfortunately it burns my nose, just turns strange and is way too strong with my body chemistry. The part thats left over long after its dried down hours later is aactually kind of nice. soft and vanilla like, but it takes literally hours to become this nice scent.

“Fell in love with a girl?

Bittersweet and inescapable, this ode to a striking poetess, the Tenth Muse, will shake your senses. Classical orris entwines with carnal jasmine to enchant deep desires.”

Fantabulosa perfume

5 out of 5 rating

Oi, darling, varda a new smellie? This intriguing, sophisticatedly sweet bananary perfume is sure to take your fancy. Unique, chic and unforgettable – it’s one to wear.

Originally a Be Never Too Busy To Be Beautiful perfume, released under a different name in 2004.

This fragrance used to be called ‘Ladyboy’ when Lush was called ‘B Never Too Busy to be Beautiful ‘. I took a picture of that bottle. It is made with oak moss, seaweed, violet, and some note that is banana-ish.

Lush has made four violet forward perfumes.

Tuca Tuca, Kerbside Violet, Ladyboy/Fantabulosa, and V.

Fantabulosa does have an undernote of mossiness because of the oak moss and seaweed oils in it.

I would describe this scent as a fruity floral, with primary violet note, and it’s a sweet violet, but not as sweet as Lush other violet perfume Tuca Tuca. And theres a banana note.

The yellow solid bubble bar in the shape of a perfume bottle is also called ‘Fantabulosa’, and has the same scent as the Fantabulosa perfume and the Lush Ladyboy perfume. Notice the both have a banana on them.

This scent was originally made for men and women. one of Lush first unisex scents. It was wildly popular. lush made a soap, shower gel, etc of this scent.

Fabulosa is a fairly long lasting fragrance as well, staying on my skin a good amount of time before reapplication was necessary.

If you like unusual scents that are sweet, or even if you love violet, you’ll enjoy Fantabulosa.

Here’s a video i made describing the scent in depth.

List of ingredients

Goddess Perfume

5 out of 5 rating. The perfume was made in the same scent as the original bath bomb, The bath bomb was made for Ariana Grande’s video ‘God is a Woman’.

The scent of the perfume and the bath bomb is made in the Lush “Zen” soap fragrance. Its a combination of earthy, green and floral notes.

I describe the fragrance in detail in my video below. I love this fragrance! That’s no. surprise i guess because i loved the Zen soap from which this scent comes from.

Jack Constantine at Lush mimicked the gorgeous muted colors of blue, lilac, gray, silver, green in the video within the bath bomb.

Its scent is a combination of earthy, green and floral. It smells like the video looks if that makes sense. I think Jack did an excellent job of creating the feel and vibe of Ariana’s video into this perfume scent.

Yog Nog scent family

5 out of 5 rating

Yog Nog is an egg nog-like scent that has an added toasted caramel scent. Like creme brulee smells. Its so yummy that it fools you into thinking its edible. But its not.

My favorite of the bunch has to be the bubble bar. The perfume oil is the strongest.

Im glad i finally have enough things in this scent family to last me awhile. Perhaps ill sell a couple of them together.

This is a very popular set of products with Lushies. Lush has introduced it in one form or another every holiday season since 2013.

Keep It Fluffy

5 out of 5 rating

In my picture above are my now empty Original cut crystal Keep It Fluffy perfume on the left from 2006, and a new bottle on the right from 2019. The pink one in the middle is a Lush bubble bar recently made in Lush UK called ‘Keep It Fluffy Bubble Bottle’.

I have all the Keep It Fluffy products Lush/B Never made from 2006 onwards to the present 2023.

Keep It Fluffy was at one time my favorite of the 15 fragrance lines that Lush sold at their sister store ‘B Never Too Busy To Be Beautiful‘ 2005-2008. Keep It Fluffy was a large line of products. Its a light and pretty fragrance. Its got rose petal infusion, vanilla, jasmine, lemongrass, and ylang ylang.

When i smell Keep It Fluffy I usually smell the rose petal infusion, then the Ylang Ylang and jasmine. I dont usually pick up the lemongrass.

Some people don’t like it, and some people love it. So id go by the notes if youre trying to make a decision on buying or not.

If youre familiar with the Lush/B Never ‘Two Hearts’ fragrance..its *somewhat* similar notes, except Two Hearts is more jasmine forward and has no vanilla or lemongrass.

There are some kinds of products that carry the KiF scent better than others. Lush had a bath bomb which was lovely and so was the soap. The perfume is iffy because i have tge originals to compare it to and for sone reason the original is better scented. It should be the other way around right? The older one shouldnt smell better than the new one. So this tells me that Lush is using less of some ingredient than they used to.

Also, if youve used or smelled the Lush ‘Turkish Delight’ smoothie, that is made with the KiF scent. I love the scent in the smoothie.

Here’s an empty bottle of one of my Lush Keep It Fluffy perfumes. Lush made these cut crystal bottles for us on the Lush Uk forum. The one next to it was a body spray.

This is one of my ‘if you were on a deserted island’ Lush perfumes.

Here’s my video

In my photo below I gathered all my Keep It Fluffy products. The container was a handmade Lush Keep It Fluffy gift set container.

rose petal infusion, jasmine flower infision, vanilla, lemon grass and ylang ylang.

It’s a beautiful, innocent soft floral with citrus notes. Its not sweet. Well maybe a tiny bit sweet. Very little.

I have a bunch of Lush Keep it Fluffy things. Some of the containers are empty. And i still have bubble bars, empty shower gels and other bath stuff in this scent. Myself and others have been hinting to Mark C from Lush about re-making keep it fluffy for a few years now.

Maybe someday. I can always hope.

ETA: Lush has Brought Keep It Fluffy back!

Above is my empty bottle of ‘Rose Tinted Spectacles’ which was a liquid bubble bath that was sold at the B Never store and its the Keep It Fluffy scent.

ETA: As of 2021 Lush now sells this perfume again! I think it’s limited edition.

The ‘Keep It Fluffy bubble bottle’ bubble bar on the left is in the same shape as the perfume bottle. Lush made these in 2019

Heres a keep it fluffy bath bomb thst Lush made as a Lush product and wasn’t at their B Never boutique.

Also in the Keep It Fluffy scent is the ‘Funny Face’ Fun bar, which was exclusive and free at a Lush Event in England for one night. A very lovely woman got one for me 🙏🏼❤️

Funny Face was an old movie with Audrey Hepburn.

So White perfume

3 1/2 out of 5 rating. See my review video of this perfume below.

This smells like a tart, green apple. It’s actually made with rose and orange flower surprisingly.

I like the scent more in the bath bomb. The perfume isnt bad its just nit my favorite way of enjoying this scent.

Here’s a review and demo video I recorded of Lush Uk exclusive so White perfume.

Lush Gorilla Perfumes III

These in my photo above are the perfumes- i bought from the Gorilla III series on the Lush UK website in 2014.

I didnt get Hellstone (didnt buy because erveryone who did buy it said it smelled lightly of sulphur, yuk)

nor The Smell of Freedom

nor Stayin Alive.

Nor Princess Cotton Grass It was available only in the Oxford Street store for one day, and not living in England i wasnt able to buy it, however Lush made a Princess Cotton Grass body dusting powder that i was able to purchase thanks to a lovely Lushie.

Lush wrote about this perfume series;

“Death and decay may seem like strange words to describe a range of perfumes, but step inside the minds of Gorilla perfumers Mark and Simon Constantine and you’ll understand that there’s much more to fragrance than, well, fragrance.

Perfumery is an art form, and deserves recognition as such. That means giving each scent the space to be explored and enjoyed properly using music, light sound and smell.

Rudyard Kipling once said that “Smells are surer than sounds or sights to make your heart-strings crack” meaning they have the power to evoke memories and emotional responses in ways taste, touch, sound and vision can’t. Just a whiff of freshly baked bread can transport you to your grandmother’s kitchen, a french bakery or the supermarket you worked at when you were seventeen. Scent has the power to simultaneously evoke different emotions in all of us with just one note, which is what makes it such a phenomenal medium for expression.

For perfumers Simon and Mark Constantine this couldn’t be more true. Volume III is their way of exploring their personal experiences of death and mourning, and accordingly each perfume has a story behind it.

When the perfumes were first launched guests were able to explore each perfume and the story behind them in an immersive experience at a bespoke pop-up gallery in London. Now the gallery is closed you can discover the Volume’s inspirations below;”

All Good Things

all_good_things_10ml_web

Succumb to this rich, sensual and smokey blend of all good things. Both bitter and sweet, representing a parting of ways and celebrating new beginnings. A sweet, boozy stumble down a dark basement staircase will leave you in a blissed out cloud of candyfloss and black pepper.

(Lush made a bubble bottle bar in this fragrance)

Death and Decay

death_decay_small_web-1

Granted, it’s not the prettiest of names for a perfume. Those two words, death and decay, evoke macabre, even grotesque responses, but, when coupled with the floral, almost sweet scent of lilies, the meaning behind the perfume suddenly becomes clear. It’s fresh and beautiful, and as Mark points out, it reminds you of the prosaic side of death; the funereal silences, the reverence of remembering those who have passed.

How it was visualised in the Gorilla Gallery space:

The first perfume audience were met with, Death and Decay sets the tone of the exhibition. The floral fragrance is at odds with the harsh, deathly words, which emphasises the bitter-sweet nature of life.

The pure scent of lily mingles with over-ripe tones of indole to give this fragrance a pungent, narcotic headiness. Let it transport you to a serene space where the fullness of beauty and its inevitable decay can be contemplated without fear. The message is one of meditation, acceptance and optimism delivered in a glorious, floral flourish.

Dad’s Garden – Lemon Tree

05574

Dad’s Garden is inspired by a walk Mark took in his father’s garden in South Africa following his death. Mark realised that it was possible to miss someone you never really knew, and created a perfume that encapsulated this unfamiliar familiarity using leaves from a lemon tree he collected during the walk.

Capturing Mark’s father’s verdant South African garden, full of light and bright colours, experience a rush of sunny lemon and juicy lime. This uplifting, tribute fragrance exudes sweet citrus with a sharp twist that lingers on the skin and in the mind. Linger under the Lemon Tree and luxuriate in the warmth of the sun on the nape of your neck.

How it was visualised in the Gorilla Gallery space:

A garden shed hung with men’s suit jackets. Each one is scented with Dear John – a fragrance Mark made as an ode in perfume to a man he hadn’t yet met. Beside the jackets, in a scene reminiscent of of Alice in Wonderland, are three perfume bottles labelled ‘Jo’ ‘Sari’ and “Laura’ – each scent is a portrait in perfume of the three sisters he met after his father’s death.

Dad’s Garden – Lemon and Chamomile

dads_garden_50ml_web

Symbolic of the passing of tradition from generation to generation, this perfume is Simon Constantine’s own homage to his father’s garden. Inspired by the floral, herbal scents in Mark’s garden, the scent of chamomile and honeysuckle create a warm, comforting fragrance that is reassuringly optimistic. This fragrance tackles the more positive elements of mourning, and signals the process of renewal and moving forwards.

Simon created this sweet, green perfume in homage of his father’s garden, and the result is a fragrance landscape of honeysuckle. Lush orange flower is calm rather than zesty in this perfume rich in Roman chamomile and lavender, but the resulting bouquet is stirring rather than dreamy. Wear to be reminded of long gone summer evenings in shades of gold.

How it was visualised in the Gorilla Gallery space:

This fragrance is purposely exhibited close to Mark’s Dad’s Garden fragrance in order to demonstrate how the two pieces work together. The warm and comforting embrace of Simon’s fragrance hits the audience as they leave  the more sorrowful atmosphere of Mark’s father’s shed. The two pieces poignantly encompass the mourning process – loss, sadness, comfort, remembrance and renewal.
