Oil on Troubled Waters

5 out of 5 rating

I have a short video below of this bath oil in my tub.

Lush description: Calm the storm as you unwind amongst clouds of mint and oakwood; you can almost smell the weather turning.

Lush made 15 different solid bath oils in 2014 as accompaniments to the new at the time Lush Gorilla perfumes. One of those perfumes was called ‘The smell of weather turning’.

There is mint and oakwood in both the perfume and this ‘Oil On Troubled Water’ bath oil. It does remind one of what it smells like in the air when a storm is coming. Before a storm the air can seem electric with ions. And then theres the petrichor smell.

The mint does remind me of the fresh, clean, cold air when it starts to rain, thunder and lightning.

And the woody note sort of warms up the mint with its woody comforting scent.

But honestly, THAT COLOR.

Stunning. Its a shimmery cobalt blue ball with the scent of a storm and having moisturizing properties. There is also some purple color here and there amongst the blue.

So this shot below is when Oil on Troubled Waters was just starting to melt and spread out in my hot, but not too hot, bath water. Also, it looks like when there is a puddle of rain water on the pavement with some blue oily substance on top. ‘Oil Over Troubled Water’

There are multiple references in the names of the perfume and the bath oil.

The oil on a rain puddle.

The lyrics to 70’s Simon and Garfunkle’s classic hit song ‘Bridge Over Troubled Water’.

The smell of weather turning. Oil Over Troubled Waters

One comes before the other. The storm comes before the rain puddle.

I love the outstanding creativity that Lush had when they brought this whole concept together in a 1.5 inch bath oil ball.

Now below you can see the purple come out and the line of irridescent shimmer in the water.

😯😍

The scent of Oil On Troubled Water is medium strong. These little beauties dont make the water overly oily, it’s just the right amount of moisturizing.

Sometimes what i would do is have this bath oil with any green lush bath bomb. Then the result is green bath water with sparkly cobalt blue and purple streaks.

I would rate this a 5 out of 5.

Happy Thoughts

3.5 out of 5 rating

One of two Oxford street bath oils, that are orange.  Happy Thoughts is coated in red salt.

It smells perfectly Orangey and zesty.

Orange, color and scent, is said to lift the spirits if youre feeling down.

I show the oxford street store catalog page just to show you how lush describes Happy Thoughts.

my rating still suggests that i would recommend this if you like the smell of oranges.

If i had to pick only one bath oil out of the 20 different ones, i wouldnt necessarily pick Happy Thoughts.

It makes bright orange oil blobs in the bath and the scent doesnt get weak once its in the water which is great. I love the smell of oranges so i liked this one. there are no sparkles or shimmer in this one.

Melting Marshmellow Moments bath oil

Same scent as the current MMM bath melt. It’s a derivative of Lush Snow Fairy scent, it’s called the Candy Fluff scent. It’s a very sweet, pink and an ever so slightly spicy note.

When Lush made Melting Marshmallow Moments bath melt in 2004 it was pink and looked like a Cupcake.

Then in 2014 when Lush Uk opened the first Lush Superstore on Oxford Street London, they redesigned the bath melts and called them bath oils. And the giant pink cupcake because much smaller and became pink and yellow.

In my photo below It’s in the lower left amongst the other Oxford Street products.

It’s not frothy and creamy like the original cupcake design, it’s more like an oil that sits on top of the water and looks pretty having some shimmer in this new design. I like the new design but i’m not gonna lie, i liked the cupcake version more.

A new bath oil “Melting Marshmallow Moments’ may sound familiar to you. That’s because there is already a bath melt in all stores with the same name.
It’s a beautiful shimmery pink and yellow disk.
I was surprised that it didn’t color the water or have as much glitter as the other new Lush bath oils. However it has a good amount of scent in the bath and the almond oil and cocoa butter was moisturizing to my skin.
I think i like the Melting Marshmallow Moments bath melt more than this new solid bath oil. Mostly because it makes more of a show in the bath.
Not my favorite bath oil from Lush Oxford Street but it’s so pretty one can’t help but buy at least one.

Lush description: Sweet treat for silky skin.
Moisturizing marshmallow oil whipped up with cocoa butter and almond oils.

Delight

4 out of 5 rating

See my video demonstration of this bath oil below.

This was gorgeous, silver sparkles being one of the best things i know, however the scent was a bit disappointing.  I will say that it wasn’t ‘flat’ smelling, it was actually nicely layered between the lime, pepper and pine.  It smells natural.  But it’s more of a gender neutral scent.  Not at all a girly fragrance. It makes up for it because at $3.00 that it’s lovely to combine (“cocktail”) it with almost anything else. The only silver glittery product was “Star Light” melt from Christmas past so this ‘Delight” bath oil is welcomed in my tub.

Here’s a video i made of this beautiful bath oil in the tub

my photo below is the scent family products of the delight bath oil:

Dragon’s Temple

Lush ‘Dragon’s Temple’ bath bauble melt has the same scent as Delight bath oil and the other products in my photo above.

I Am a Radiant Being

5 out of 5 rating. See my demo bath video of this bath oil below

This is one of my favorite bath oils from Oxford street.  It smells like Lush “Rose Jam’, it’s very moisturizing, it’s got pink shimmer, and it’s a GORGEOUS show in the water whilst your bathing.

Here’s one ai had with a Lush “Intergalactic’ bath bomb, which makes blue water, and contrasts nicely with the bright pink.

file-sep-26-6-10-02-pm

there is one other kind of bath oil that is star shaped. its got to halves with cream in the middle, wheras this kind doesnt have halves.

I would buy ten of these if i could.

Here’s a video demonstration i did of this beautiful thing. I want more!

Pink sparkley blobs amongst the blue, sparkly water. 😍

Furze

5 out of 5 rating

Lush changed the look a bit, to a more bowl shape and more solid, and no red flower.

Lush had a perfume drop back around 2014 ish called ‘Gorilla perfume I’ and the perfume series was called ‘Death and Decay’. One of the ten perfumes in this series was called ‘Furze’. I still have a bottle with the original artwork on it, which is in my photo below. Lush made the little bath oil ( that looks something that grows in The Shire) in the same name and fragrance.

This was also the time when lush introduced 15 new bath oils in a new design at the first Lush superstore in Oxford Street London.

I made a 30 second video of 2/3 of those bath oils.

The perfumes for this series are in my photo below.

This bath oil bon bon Has the same coconut fragrance as their “Furze” perfume. It has coconut, and mimosa.

Perfume

Lush Furze perfume is so lovely. It has the scent of coconut and mimosa floral. Its smooth, creamy, and sweet. Its strong byt not too strong. One spray and it stays nicely on my skin for most of the day. If you like coconut you’ll love Furze. Id give it a 4 or 4 1/2 out of 5 rating.

Coconut

Mimosa is this fragrant, sweet flower that grows on the mumosa tree.

There was also an exclusive one day only furze body lotion, from Lush UK which you can see in the photo i took below.

I am ADDICTED to this fragrance.  It is THE best coconut scented product that Lush makes.  It’s so softening.

If you don’t like bits in your bath, you may want to wrap this up in tea strainer or something so that all the cocoa butter melts in the tub but the green plant bits don’t go in your water.  I happen to like bathing in bits, petals, etc

In my photo below i show a salted coconut hand scrub that lush uk stores sold that has the same scent as “Furze’ bath oil and perfume.

This bauble bath melt ‘Winter Night’ below is also Furze scented. Coconut and Mimosa.

Here’s a video demo i made with my Furze bath oil.

Lime Pastilles

Lime Pastilles bath oil has a pretty green shimmer on the outside. And it smells of limes.

I gathered some green Lush things in my stash a couple of years ago and took this picture below. I added the red arrow to show you where the lime pastilles is in the picure.

(Johnny Appleseed bath oil and Youve Been Mangoed bath oil are also around that same area)

In my photo below the green Lime Pastille bath oil is next to the silver bath oils.
