Hot Toddy

4 out of 5 rating. smells of cloves, cinnamon

This is such a popular lush product with Lushies. It was never sold as a regular year round product, it was a Mid to late 2000’s Christmas limited edition bubble bar.

This came out for Yule 2003. It smells nice and warm for the winter months. It smells spicy, orangey, foody, and a little spicy like Coca Cola or something. I am the only Old skool Lushie on the planet who doesn’t think Hot Toddy is the best thing since sliced bread. That said I do think it’s good. I would rate it a 4 out of 5 rating, meaning i would sugfest you try it, i may buy one more. Versus a 5 out of 5 rating would mean i would be buying five or more of them to stock up.

Someone asked me if i thought Hot Toddy smelled the same as the Lush ‘Jolly’ shower gel. They share similar ingredients like orange oil, cinnamon, and clove but Jolly is heavier on the orange, while Hot Toddy is a tad heavier on the cinnamon.

Lush Times description: The hot toddy is our Celtic grandmother’s cure for a cold or a chill: whiskey (or whisky), lemon juice, honey and hot water. The Lush Hot Toddy will suit even the tee-total grans because you don’t drink it, you crumble it under the running water to make a warm, fruity, spicy bath with lemon peel, muscovada sugar, cinnamon, lime, clove and a pinch of paprika and a hint of soothing patchouli. It takes the chill off after coming in from the cold.

Ingredients: 100g £1.95

Sodium Bicarbonate, Cream of Tartar, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Perfume, Cocamide DEA, Clove Leaf Oil, Patchouli Oil, Lime Oil, Benzoin Resinoid, Cinnamon Leaf Oil, Orange Oil, Muscovada Sugar, Lemon Peel, Crushed Cinnamon, Paprika Oleoresin.

The previous incarnation of the Lush Kitchen made the hot toddy bubble bar again and the shower gel a couple of times in 2014, and 2016.

Lush made a shower gel (and a few other things) in tge mid 2000’s from this scent because Lushies were begging for a shower gel in the same scent.

Other Lush products in this same scent family are Holly Golightly bubble bar, Melting Snowman bath melt, orange and spice bath melt tablet’
