Twas the Night Before Christmas

5 out of 5 rating

This beautiful indigo soap with its blue purple sparkle was made with the same scent as “Black Pearl” ballistic. Lavender, Black Currant fruit, Myrrh, Frankincense, and Chamomile. It’s one of my favorite soaps and one of most old skool Lushies favorite soaps. They only made it one year in 2005. We’ve been wanting it back for decades. It’s the darkest inky blue color of any soap that Lush has made, and it has the same dark blue sparkles. GORGEOUS

Im so glad i had the presence of mind to take pictures of my pieces!

Lush will be making this soap again for the December subscription box!

The picture below is of the Lush store large sized round (they called them truckles) soap on display. It was about 1-2 feet in diameter and had a reindeer, Santa and sleigh going through the night sky. That’s why the soap looks like it does, dark blue and sparkly. If I could’ve I would have bought a whole truckle of soap. They actually did sell whole soaps to customers if they were willing to buy one. I didn’t have a store near me in within 700 miles in either direction though.

Black Pearl bath bomb

4 out of 5 rating.

Its a smaller bomb, like butterball. If it was regularsize id give it a 5 out of 5

I cant remember if this was a year round, regular store item, but i dont think it was. I think it was a limited edition.

This scent is not a citrus nor candy scent. I usually describe the scent as a chamomile tea, with frozen black currants in place of ice cubes, and a sprig of fresh lavender, with a vague scent of earthy, resinous Myrrh.

Lavender, Chamomile, Currant, Frankincense and Myrrh, Black Sugar, silver glitter.

See my tub demo video of it below

95g £2.10

Ingredients: Sodium Bicarbonate, Citric Acid, Black Sugar (Sucrose), Perfume, Lavender Absolute (Lavandula hybrida), Chamomile Oil (Anthemis nobilis), Olibanum Oil (Boswellia carterii), Myrrh Resinoid (Commiphora myrrha), Silver Lustre Sparkle, Silver Glitter (Polyethyleneterephthalate), *Limonene, *Linalool, Paper Motto.

Here’s a Lush Halloween version of Black Pearl called ‘Cob Web’. Same bomb just a different, fun shape for Halloween.

Review: This Lush bath bomb is the size of “Butterball“. Surprisingly it has lovely silver sparkles in the bomb. I think it looks better with the pretty silvery glitter than it would without it, as it’s color is kind of a chalky dark greyish color in the bath. The scent is so nice when it’s fresh, the scent has stayed on my skin hours after the bath. Lush made the 2005 Christmas soap “Twas the Night Before Christmas” in the same scent as this Black Pearl bath bomb. I think those Lushies that are weary of citrus scents or candyish scents will like this. I also feel that this will be a good for guys as well as women.

Lush Times 2007 description: The Black Pearl is a dark, mysterious Bath bomb named in honour of Captain Jack Sparrow’s ship in Pirates of the Caribbean. (We like Johnny Depp and we reckon Orlando Bloom’s not bad either.) It is studded with crystals of sea salt and scented with lavender and blackcurrant. Inside each one there’s a wise saying, a “pearl of wisdom” to enlighten you in your search for treasure.

Here’s a bath demo video i made of the black pearl bath bomb.

Here is a photo I took of all the Lush products made in the Black Pearl scent
