A photo of the Sakura i bought in 2021

Mimosa in the moonlight. I knew this smell right away, I used to walk around these trees at my fathers house that had the fuzzy lavender colored flowers on it and the smell was heavenly. A sweet yet powdery flower the mimosa. It is lavender in color and fuzzy like a soft pink brush. Sometimes it smells like a light melon scent too. Mimosa is what the “Sakura” ballistic is scented with. This has no color in the water.

Ingredients: Sodium Bicarbonate, Citric Acid, Perfume, Sea Salt, Lemon Oil, Mimosa Absolute, Orange Blossom Absolute, Jasmine Absolute, Gardenia Extract, FD&C Red No. 4, FD&C Blue No. 1

Lush 2006 description: Sakura is the japanese name for cherry blossom which aptly describes this pretty pale pink ballistic. Sakura is dappled with bursts of pale green that rise up to a bright pink and green layer of exfoliating sea salt at the top of the bomb

This has been one of Lush’s regular year round bath bombs since 2004 or so. And its still sold in stores today.

Its a fast dissolving fizzing type of bath bomb, not a slow, melty, foam typeof bomb. It has a lovely floral scent with blue and pink salt crystals on the top.

There’s one or two more products in this scent family that arent in my group picture.

Skin Sin

Skin Sin 100g £3.25p

Ingredients: Water (Aqua), Almond Oil (Prunus dulcis), Cocoa Butter (Theobroma cacao), Glycerine, Stearic Acid, Tagettes Oil (Tagettes glandulifera), Tangerine Oil (Citrus reticulata), Chamomile Oil (Anthemis nobilis), Lavender Oil (Lavandula hybrida), Perfume, Triethanolamine, Cetearyl Alcohol, Methylparaben, Propylparaben.

Lush.a.Lot’s Review: Skin Sin is similar to Lush’s discontinued “Cherie Ripe” massage bar. It’s a lighter scent then Cherie Ripe message bar or Snap the Whip or even Potion. When I first put it on, it was cherry, in a majorly yummy way. Now that it’s rubbed in and stuff it smells like light soft cherry and just a touch of that fruity currant smell.  I guess I’m just lucky with these latest round of new products because this has absolutely no acrid currant-cat pee smell on me whatsoever as some say it does. Not in the least.  Skin Sin is beautiful. It’s just a lushious black currant creamy raspberry scent. This is a nice lighter scented summer body lotion that is quickly absorbed like “Potion”, and it’s also like “Potion” in consistency. I could actually wear this to work and not be worried about it being to “Lushy” or too “Strong”.

Lush Description: Skin Sin started life as a truly beautiful cream which made our skin feel good all over. We used almond oil to sink deep down into the skin and give longer lasting benefits (not just a nice smell and a feeling which lasts half and hour like some chemical-raddled creams do). We added nourishing cocoa butter and humectant vegetable glycerine, soothing tagettes and chamomile oils. The trouble was with this gloriously effective cream, that its effective, dependable mix of essential oils made it smell all a bit too worthy. We wanted it to behave perfectly but to smell wicked. So Mark added a twist of rich, fruity cherry, which you smell more strongly as the earnest oils settle down and do their good works. It’s a bit like having Angelina Jolie join your school’s fundraising committee.

Lemon Days and Ginger Beer

Ingredients: Sodium Bicarbonate, Citric Acid, Lemon Peel, Powdered Ginger, Perfume, Ginger Oil,  Mimosa Absolute, Red Mandarin Oil, Sandalwood Oil, Geranium Oil , Bergamot Oil, Gardenia Extract , Colour 19140.

Review: This ballistic was discontinued about as quickly as it came out. Loads of people liked it on the forum but I guess it just didn’t sell at all and was pulled a few months after introduction. It smells like the perfume Ginger, highly floral rose but it has a strong lemony top note also. I wouldn’t normally like this combo but Lush also includes Sandalwood, Mimosa (like is in 17 Cherry Tree Lane soap and Sakura ballistic) , and also some red mandarin oil. So while i don’t hate it, i don’t love it either. It’s quite strong when fresh and the red mandarin orange oil and sandalwood is covered up by the fresh ginger and lemon scent, but when this ballistic mellows a bit it’s lovely. It makes bright yellow water.  3 stars.
