This doesnt make any color in the water, however because its so damn cute and because i always buy more than two when lush makes them-i give this a solid 5 out of 5 rating.
Here below are some real sugar skulls made for Dia De Los Muertos.
The Lush Sugar Skulls are fairly big as you can see in my hand.
In my bath below i had three products with the Day of the Dead/Calacas scent
Green Calavas jelly
Yellow Man in the Moon bubble bar
Skullduggety bath bomb
lush made these around 2005 and then again in the Lush Kitchen on a limited edition basis. Back when we could order/buy multiple from the Lush Kitchen i bought four.
in my photo below are Other Lush products made in this same scent.
I love his red heart eyes
Originally Lush made a perfume for Halloween one year called ‘Day of the Dead’. I show it in my photo below. Later the name was changed to ‘Calacas’, which means skulls. Both of these names having to do with Dia De Los Muertos.
Lush Times: Skullduggery is an eerie but magical celebration for your bathtub. We used brightening and refreshing lime and neroli for the fragrance and olibanum (also known as frankincense resinoid) to help that citrusy smell stay on your skin until the witching hour and beyond. Lime oil is a popular ingredient in remedies to combat congested skin, cellulite or simply to wake you up! We use expensive neroli oil as it is one of the few essential oils to be scientifically proven to increase serotonin production in the brain – Arriba! Olibanum resinoid, otherwise known as frankincense, has a woody, slightly fruity aroma and covers the skin with a thin, protective film, softening the skin. It is extremely effective on sore, cracked, de-hydrated skin.
In my photo above i used two bath bombs with the ssme scent: Skulldugery and Monsters Ball
He looks menacing even as hes melting in the water
😄
He has little swirly designs on his head. I tried to show that in the pic below.
Jack invented Calavera Bath Bomb last year for our Day of the Dead celebration; a very zesty number full of vibrant, bright colours to get you celebrating in the bath. He chose uplifting citrus oils for the fragrance, as they can help clear your head after a night of celebrating the dead (with one too many tequilas!)
Decorated skulls (or Calaveras) are iconic in Day of the Dead imagery – so this year, we took the concept of Jack’s Bath Bomb last year and gave it a slightly spookier look. This ballistic is limited edition so get it while you can.
This doesn’t make any colors in the bath, but it is cute.
Here’s a demo and review video i made of Skullduggery in the bath
Here’s a ‘scent Family portrait’ photo i took of all the Lush ‘Calacas scented things, except for the wonderful ‘Enchanter’ which is not in the family portrait. I want Lush to pleeeease make Enchanter again someday. I love Skullduggery and Enchanter equally. One has the super cute factor, and one is one of the most colorful lush bath bomb i’ve ever seen. 🙂
Description: Celebrate with a champagne cocktail bath: orange & cognac essential oils and a parade of pretty paper. Drop into a warm bath for fizz and fragrance.
Review: This has the immediately familiar, Sparkling grapefruity scent. . I am one of very few, who doesn’t really love the scent. It’s a pretty bathe bomb, but that’s about it. The bath bomb is visually striking and has a techni-color quality. This is one of lush’s “slow dissolving” ballistics, which means it lasts a long time melting and fizzing in the bath, unlike Lush’s regular ballistics which fizz and dissolve in about 5 minutes. This ballistic disperse multi-colored confetti as it dissolves, in every color of the rainbow.. The confetti floats down to the bottom of the tub in look colorful and whispy. There is also has some pink melty stuff in the bomb itself which as you can see makes a beautiful pink spiral pattern as it melts. Then it started….it started spinning round, and the reason for it’s name became clear to me. It’s trails of foam and the spinning and the colors in the middle from the paper looked like a SuperNova. For those of you who don’t like cleaning bit out of the tub, this ballistic is not for you. It was worth it to me as it was so pretty I had to try it at least once.
Notes: scent is the same as Lush “Celebrate’ body lotion and “Celebrate’ jelly.
Notes: Champagne Supernova’s name was later changed to Supernova.
These are additional lush products made in this scent.
A fang-tastically fruity jelly to put the bite back into bathtime. When the dark night rises, seek the fruity candy-scented salvation of this aloe vera and lime juice jelly and cover yourself in a sweet, carrageenan lather. For an extra stimulating hit, use it fresh from the fridge or freezer. A hint of vitamin E-rich carob syrup delivers extra nourishment to the body and adds to that deliciously fruity perfume.
This bath bomb was made in the “Calacas” fragrance. having the same neroli, frankincense (olibanum), lime. It smells perfumey, resinous, a tad sweet, and citrussy with lime.
It’s name refers to the Mexican ‘Dia De Los Muertos’ holiday. We drink a fruit punch that Lush tried to reproduce in scent when they made the Calacas fragrance.
The ones made earlier had a super bright red/pink color and yellow. the more current Enchanters are more light orange and light yellow.
A 5 star bath bomb. It can stain the tub so i add a squeeze of shower gel to the bath when i’m filling it up, which breaks the surface tension which keeps the color from forming a ring around the tub. I learned that from Lush many years ago. The newer ones aren’t as saturated with colored foam as the original Enchanter bombs but it’s still pretty and smells great. 4 out of 5 rating.
Below is a video demo and review i made of the enchanter.
Below is My Calacas scent family photo. Lush has released a body spray and a lotion a couple of years after this photo was taken. 😊 For a total of 14-15 Lush Calacas scented products of different types.
5 out of 5 rating! When you watch my short tub demo video of Golden Wonder, you will love the water looks like at the end! 🙂
Gorgeous, glittery blue. Smells like Buck’s Fizz.
It has a grapefruit soda smell that Lushies go nuts for. This is SO popular. Lush introduced this around 2007. Golden Wonder was made to look like a Christmas present. Its got gold shimmer on the outside of it. Inside it has bath bomb discs in different colors that are supposed to represent the things inside the gift. If you shake the bomb gently you csn here them inside.
It’s got alot of ocean blue color in it. So what happens is when it’s all dissolved the water is ocean blue with gold shimmer in it. Mermaid Water. BEAUTIFUL.
Lush Times: This bath bomb is like a pass the parcel gift – each layer has something different to offer. This is not for a quick bath because it takes its time, this bath bomb, its wonders to unfold. First take some time to shake it, listen to the little rattle from within and try to imagine what’s in there. Then drop it in your water and gaze in wonderment as gold turns to yellow, turns to blue and spits out soluble stars along the way.
This isn’t a bath – this is an event !
We loved this bath bomb so much, we decided to put one of our most popular perfumes in it, so that lots of people will enjoy bathing in it. Long standing customers will recognise the smell of Champagne Snow Showers. Newer customers might like to know that the smell is of a light fizzing champagne cocktail, and contains sweet orange oil, cognac oil and lime oil.
So wonder no longer – put one of these in your basket and try it for yourself This ballistic contains edible gold lustre and soluble paper stars – so there’ll be no sparkly bits left to clean out of your bath afterwards.
Here is a picture of the regular Golden Wonder and the XXL Golden Wonder

My Tub Demo Video (the shimmery water is towards the end)
See my demo and review video of Calacas shower gel and other lush products with this same “Calacas’ scent below.
Lush changed the name to Zesty a couple og years ago…for some reason. 🤷🏻♀️
There are four colors of Calacas shower gel; green, yellow, orange, and one that is more iridescent and has both green and yellow.
Calacas shower gel was first made in a green color in 2011. It has the “Day of the Dead” lush fragrance. Lime oil, neroli oil. It smell slike a light, fragrant perfume. It’s citrussy but with Frankincense which is resinous and is sometimes in incense and is wonderful.
Like Lime pastille candies but not as sweet. It’s beautiful.
Calacas means Skull of Skeleton in Spanish. And we have a Mexican holiday called ‘Dia de Los Muertos’ which means ‘Day of the Dead’. On that day we remember our relatives who have passed on.
Here’s a picture i took of all the Lush products that have been made in the same fragrance.
Heres the Lady Catrina soap in the store with a big slice cut off of it. 😊
Here’s my scent family portrait that i made in 2007. Since then there have been many other products made by Lush in the Calacas scent. Someday ill add the new ones to a list here.
Lush Times 2003 description: We like to celebrate. We do it at every possible opportunity. In fact, every morning is a micro celebration of sorts when we award ourselves a Ballistic for having managed to get out of bed in one piece. Mo’s beautiful new Bridal Bouquet Ballistic celebrates weddings. It has one of our best celebratory scents too: throw it in the bath and it will waft the fragrance of Buck’s fizz with a dash of cognac, which will put you in a part mood even if you weren’t so sure before you started. The Bridal Bouquet is made to celebrate weddings*. It could be an engagement, a hen party, the big day itself or fifty years later. Bathe in the scent of celebration and make bathing more of an occasion. (*Incidentally, we are a very inclusive organisation and we would not dream of stopping teh resolutely single, separated, divorced or widowed or not-the-slightest-bit-interested members of the public from enjoying the Bridal Bouquet should they wish.)
Review: Smells like fizzy orange soda. It’s not an elegant and rounded orange like “Happy for Sad” or “but sparkly, festive and bright. I think this one went really well with the citrussy orange Brightside bubble bar or “Happy” bubble bar. Later Lush used this scent and made the “Christmas Party” bath bomb, Golden Wonder bath bomb, Celebrate lotion, jelly, and perfume.
Wonder.
Heres the January 2025 monthly lush subscription box with a piece of Northern Lights soap.
Even though this soap is called “Northern Lights”, it doesn’t share the scent with the beautiful long, purple bath bomb of the same name from a couple of Christmases ago.
This soap has pine, cypress and lime. I absolutely love the scent of this soap. It smells both beautiful and fresh. Its a very lovely and different scent for a lush product and unless im mistaken they havent used this scent for any other products unfortunately.
Lush Times: We have an ongoing obsession, here at Lush, with the Northern Lights. Many a trip has been taken, but rarely have they been observed. Meaning they have become something of a holy grail for us.
So yet again, we are left trying to recreate them in soap, rather than watch them in real life. But it does mean that you get amazing wonderful soaps from us.
This soap was made by Wesley, who perfectly matched the colours of the auroras he watched on the internet, and then found a special way to pour the soap to represent the natural light show.
Then Pia, our trainee perfumer from Finland, came up with an electric, fresh pine and lime perfume to finish off Wesley’s work. Together they will make you feel like you are in the crisp climes of the arctic circle, with nature’s amazing light show performing about you.
Who said soap was boring?
I got a new piece yars and years after writing this post. I got it from the Lush monthly subscription box in January 2025. It looks and smells the same. I love it!
