Guardian of the Forest shower gel

4 out of 5 rating

I cant remember the exact year but the bottle above was made for the very first time between 2014-2018.

The second bottle in my pic below was remade in July 2024 for the lush online community. Lush asked us to vote on what Lush product we would like them to make into a shower gel.

Voting was via a google doc that Lush setup

Lush Guardian of the Forest bath bomb is one of my favorite green scents.

I am very excited that Lush included Guardian of the Forest in their newest ‘we’re making shower gels of your favorite bath bombs just because’.

As i state in my video i think of GOTF as a new classic Lush green scent. Its both deep green but also bright with cypress.

Its a translucent gel. I was somewhat disppointed that it doesnt have glitter since the bath bomb has emerald green glitter but its not a huge deal because im just glad to have a nice green smelling shower gel to enjoy!

It smells like I’m in a forest or a fairy glade only not quite as woody as the bath bomb.

Rosewood, oakmoss, cypress, and lime.

The gel is nice and thick and it lathers up nicely on my skin.

Its such a soothing, grounding scent.

The forest is alive. Can you hear the trees whispering the secrets of the earth to you? They beckon you onward. Feel the carpet of cool, thick moss beneath your bare feet as citrus sunlight breaks through the trees ahead, gilding the world in dappled gold and green. Follow the footsteps of a mysterious creature and emerge into a clearing, a trickling waterfall in a glade of rosewood and cypress – the heart of the forest. Let the ethereal tranquility surround you as you step beneath the water, earthy oakmoss and cleansing lime washing away any trace of the world beyond. It’s just you and the trees.

List of ingredients

Melt My Heart

This was a limited edition Massage bar from Valentine’s years ago. 3 out of 5 rating. See below for my demo video of this.

This was made in the Lush ‘Jungle’hair conditioner scent. So it has Shea Butter, Fresh Avocado Extract, Fresh Bananas, Fresh Passion Fruit, Fresh Kumquat, Ylang Ylang Oil, Vetivert Oil, Cypress Oil, Sandalwood Oil, Chlorophyll.

Here’s a video demo i made for you showing it close up.

World Piece

Some trivia: lush used to call this World ‘Piece’ then they changed the name a few years later to World ‘Peace’.

Ingredients: Sodium Bicarbonate, Citric Acid, Pine Oil (Pinus), Sweetie Oil (Citrus grandis), Peppermint Oil (Mentha piperita), Cypress Oil (Cupressus sempervirens), Perfume, Gardenia Extract (Gardenia jasminoides), Colour 42045.

Minty mint! Sweet mint. Very refreshing on a hot day. And the water turns a gorgeous deep turquoise blue.

Lush times 2003 Description: Perhaps most of us wonder if there’s anything we can do to help bring about world peace. If we’re not world leaders or diplomats or international peace keepers then a good way to start would be to be pleasant to everyone we meet, well behaved on the roads, polite and considerate to our friends and families and kind to complete strangers. Scale it up a bit and we’re there! ‘What’s that got to do with a Bath Ballistic?’ you may ask. It’s like this. The World Piece is made with pine oil from Russia for courage and constancy and peppermint, symbol of friendship and love, from the USA. We have sweetie oil, from an Israeli grapefruit bred to remove sourness, mixed with a secret perfume from the edges of the Arabian Sahara Kenyan cypress oil is said to soothe anger and calm down irritable people who won’t stop talking and start listening. Use them yourselves and send them to people who have a direct influence on ending conflicts. (Just be careful not to label the package ‘Bath Product’ not ‘ballistic’ or ‘bomb’ because that wouldn’t help.

Here’s a demo and review video i made of this bath bomb in the bath

The comforter bubble bar

5 out of 5

Berry yourself under a blanket of bubbles.

Sometimes you just need to shut yourself away in the bathroom under a blanket of fruity foam that will put you back in the right frame of mind to face the world.

You’ll love this if you like:

– Fruity, cosy fragrances.

– The Comforter bath bomb, Blackberry bath bomb, Abracadabra bubble stick – Feeling warm, comforted and snuggly.

Benefits:

– If you’re feeling blue, a bright bath bursting with bergamot will get you back on track. – Cosy and warm-scented, cassis absolute has a similar smell to those of blackcurrants. – Cypress oil is antimicrobial and helps to soothe sore muscles.

How to use: This bar is supersized, so you’ll only need to crumble half a bar under your tap to make enough bubbles for a long, comforting soak. Or go for the whole thing if you’re feeling extra fruity!

How to store: Keep in a cool, dry place until you need a little bit of extra comfort in a berry lovely bath.

Ingredients: Sodium Bicarbonate, Cream of Tartar, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Lauryl Betaine, Perfume, Titanium Dioxide, Cocamide DEA, Bergamot Oil m, Cassis Absolute, Cypress Oil, Limonene, *Linalool, Colour 45410, Colour 17200.

This is a very popular scent with Lushies.  It’s a loverly black currant scent.  Like berries.  It’s a creamy berry scent too, not tart.

It’s a double sized bubble bar, so you can use as much or as little as you want.

I am SO in love with this bar, I must always have a small stash of these at all times, it’s become a staple item for me.

I owuld rate this bubble a 5 out of 5 rating

Flying Saucers

 4 out of 5 rating

Lush made a liquid bubble bath first, then the Flying Saucers solid bubble bar, and lastly the Flying Saucers shower gel.

This has a very sweet honey smell with some ylang ylang floral.

Ingredients: Sodium Bicarbonate, Cream Of Tartar (Tartaric Acid), Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Lauryl Betaine, Honeycomb, Cocamide DEA, Ylang Ylang Oil (Cananga Odorata), Palmarossa Oil (Cymbopogan Martini), Vetivert Oil (Vetiveria Zizanoides), Cypress Oil (Cupressus Sempervirens), Benzoin Resinoid (Styrax Benzoin), Perfume.

Lush Times: For body and emotional soothing bath of bubbles. Feeling, low, tired, depressed, angry, tearful? Put down that sharp instrument, run yourself a hot bath with lots of Flying saucers.
Bathe, Breathe, and repeat as necessary.

Review. This was a LushUK special in 2005.

Lush had a double meaning for the name. Originally it was referring to when we have PMS and maybe our partner is pissing us off, so we throw a small plate (saucer) at them. Flying Saucer.

This smells exactly like Lush’s Flying Saucersbubble bar. It smells of herbally honey, cypress and ylang ylang. It’s very strong, and some folks don’t like the scent of the cypress in it. I love it though, I use it in the bath as well. The FS shower gel is thicker than the FS bath foam. It’s a proper shower gel consistency. The scent of this Flying Saucers shower gel stays on the skin longer than average. I give this 4 stars.

Melomint

5 out of 5 rating

Ingredients: Sodium Bicarbonate, Tartaric acid, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Lauryl Betaine, Peppermint oil, Cocamide DEA, Flax seed oil, Cypress Oil, Perfume, Gardenia Extract, Chlorophyll, Color.

My review is from 2006, and i feel the same way about it in 2016.

Okay. I’m so amazed with Melomint bubble bar. And I’m amazed at “Summer” on the uk forum for ever having the patience with us to again and again try to get our collective together to vote for it and (thank heavens) finally having it win this time. It looks like a watermelon…in technicolor. It turns the water a beautiful light red/dark coral color. (I’m taking a pic of the water next bath). It smells like spearmint (not sweet mouthwash-y peppermint). It’s refreshing as all get out when the temperature rises in Summer. And what is up with the little watermelon seeds? Cute! I think it’s darn near perfect, bravo Lush.

It is strong enough of a mint to stand alone, and the water color is so unique for a Lush product that I wouldn’t want to change it. 😀 If you like Lush’s “Ice Hotel” bubble bar you’ll love this I think. It’s the same minty freshness just without the lavender. And the cypress really works here. It helps sort of ground it without even being noticeable. Wow.

LT description: If you like spearmint chewing gum you’ll likely have a weakness for this bubble bar. The mint, cypress and chlorophyll provides relief to tired and aching bodies at the end of a hard day, and with the look and shape of a slice of watermelon, this bubble bar is a beauty.

Tropical Jungle

2 out of 5 rating.

This is a woody, green forest-y, floral .

This lotion was made as an exclusive, in the same scent and ingredients as the popular Lush solid hair conditioner ‘Jungle’

The lotion was the third of seven exclusive Lush product to be made with the Jungle scent

While i love the Jungle scent, this lotion wasn’t quite what i was hoping for. It’s got the slightly sweet note that the other jungle products have, so this lotions scent seems flat. Also, it’s very greasy. I had to wipe my arms and hands off with a towel because after 40 minutes my hands and arms were still greasy and it got all over the table, my camera, my phone, and anything i touched.

No.

Ingredients: Water (Aqua), Almond Oil (Prunus dulcis), Cocoa Butter (Theobroma cacao), Glycerine, Stearic Acid, Triethanolamine, Ylang Ylang Oil (Cananga odorata), Vetivert Oil (Vetiveria zizanoides), Cypress Oil (Cupressus sempervirens), Cedarwood Oil (Juniperus virginiana), Cetearyl Alcohol, *Limonene, *Linalool, *Coumarin, *Cinnamal, Perfume, Methylparaben, Propylparaben.
* Occurs naturally in essential oils Vegan

I also have a Jungle hair conditioner, jungle liquid perfume, jungle jelly, a rare “Lushfest 2012′ Jungle massage bar, and a rare Lushfest 2012 jungle tree soap. I’ll have pages of these individual items as well, eventually.

Here’s a video i did of it

Flying Fox shower gel

3 out of 3 rating

Youki Hi is the Lush bath bomb that has the Flying Fox scentim definitely in the minority with my 2 out of 5 rating. Many more Lushies love this scent. Its just too much for me to where it smells gross on me. i guess its just my skin chemistry. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Ingredients: Honey, Chinese Angelica, Burdock Root and Jasmine Flower Infusion,  Hungarian Honey, Greek Honey, English Honey,English Honey, Perfume, Jasmine Absolute , Ylang Ylang Oil, Cypress Oil , Palmarosa Oil

LushFlyingFox1
LushFlyingFoxClr1

This shower gel is loaded with Jasmine. It has honey in it as well but it is no where near the scent of B Never or other lush honey favorites. It is a strong floral scent. The scent stays on your skin 24 hours later. I find it to be a little too intense smelling. The bath bomb version of this scent is called “Youki Hi“. Also Lush made ‘Cloak of Invisibility‘ bath oil bon bon, “Floating Flower’ bath bomb for Valentine’s 2014 in this same scent, and lush “Godiva” solid hair shampoo also has this scent, as well as Lust perfume.

I love Jasmine blends like Tender is the Night, its one of my top perfumes. But Flying Fox. No. Just no.

LT 2006 Description: Lascivious, licentious, vivacious and insatiable, this is the Sex-Appeal Honey Shower with masses of Jasmine. Contains the finest aphrodisiac essential oils, plus the best three oils for controlling PMS. Use generously all over your body and even wash your hair with it if you dare! To make you smell sexy whether you are going out for the night or just having a night in with a friend.

Here is a picture of a Lush exclusive 2018 Summit bath bomb with the same scent. It’s called ‘Fox’. I got a t shirt of this UK ‘stop hunting foxes’ campaign when i walked in, along with other attendees.

Guardian of the Forest bath bomb

5 out of 5 ratingBrought out in April 2015 for the Oxford Street superstore initially.

See my video of this gorgeous thing in the tub below.

Lush description:  Immerse yourself in a woodland lagoon dappled with mossy greens and earthy oakmoss absolute.

3.35

In my photo above i used it with a lush ‘oil on troubled water’ bath oil.

Vegan

Oakmoss absolute, and cypress. Dark Green scent but more feminine then tramp. supertramp or 1000 kisses.  The scent is more along the lines of Lush “Flowertub’ or”Jungle” because of the cypress.  It’s quite beautiful to me.  It’s one of the most beautiful green scents that Lush has done  in awhile in my opinion.

Ingredients:  Sodium bicarbonate, citric acid, cypress oil, lime oil, rosewood oil, oak moss absolute, frosty holly and yellow lustre.

Ive usedabout 4 Guardian bombs in the last few years. Once i used it with a Lush turtle bath bomb

These pics below are only the Guardian bomb bath without any other bombs.

I love the different shades of green foam thatGuardian makes in the water.

this is what it looks like when its finished dissolving in the water. Its got green sparkle in it as well. I always take pics of the sparkle if they have any but i forgot to with this bomb.

Lush also made an exclusive community voted on body spray of Guardian of the forest. I show that in my picture scent family photo below.

Lush Uk made a shower gel of this for one day only for people to buy.

Lush Kitchen Subscription box had an exclusive Guardian body scrub.

the lush kitchen body scrub feels nice, kind of a soft exfolition, not too scratchy.

Here’s a Video i made of it in the tub. GORGEOUS sparkly water.

Needles and Pines jelly

5 out of 5 rating

A lovely fresh pine and citrus scent.

This is such a lovely, calming green scent. Lush doesnt seem to create any new green/natural scents anymore, but this is an exception.

it’s beautifully green and fresh with pine and cypress.

I love anything and everything with cypress in it. Alot of my favorite green lush scents have cypress. In Needles and Pines the cypress keeps the whole fragrance from being TOO pine-y if that makes sense.

http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y181/lush-a-lot/lush-a-lot001/needlesandpine_zpseezqbjtb.jpg

The three different Lush products in my photo below were made in the same scent as needles and pines.
