The fragrance is a sexy floral. It’s made with jasmine, clary sage and gland gland. it’s floral but not sweet. very popular. Lush sells the sex bomb bath bomb as a regular year round item. It’s nice to have a bubble bar to go with the bath bomb in a bath.
The dark purple bath melt part made my skin SO soft, without being overly conditioning or greasy.
Initially the water became a pinkish red with just the bubble bar, and then when i added the boots part the water became a gorgeous purple.
This is one of six exclusive shower gels that Lush.co.uk made ‘just because’ from community favorite bath bombs
Honestly, This is the shower gel i was the least excited about. Ive seen sex bomb in one form or another for 17 years. *yawn*
However, i was in for a surprise when i used this for the first time.
Firstly, it has this quite unexpected pink shimmer to it. SO pretty. The bath bomb that this shower gel was named after doesnt have any glitter nor shimmer so this was a pleasant surprise. its not glitter like in Intergalactic shower gel, this is *shimmer*, more subtle than glitter. Beautiful. I just keep gazing at it in the light.
Secondly, the scent isn’t as complex as rhe bsth bomb scent. That said-this is what i could call a classically ‘pretty’ scent. Its feminine and floral. Having rose, and jasmine florals. The herbaceousness of the sage is kind of missing, and the ylang ylang isnt coming across at all to me but….i dont care because this floral shower gel scent has great ‘throw’. Its not a sweet scent. Just floral.
And more importantly two hours after my shower im getting compliments about how i smell at the grocery store, and from my husband. He said it smells sexy.
American Cream is a vanilla based scent which also has clary sage, and lavender as its scent components. The hair conditioner added strawberry. The other American Cream products have strawberry in them…but….American Cream products do not smell like strawberry. It’s made with strawberry, it’s not strawberry scented. And in the perfumery industry there IS a difference between those two sentences. :-)I like to make that clear, so that people won’t spend their hard earned money on something that they think will be strawberry scented, only to be disappointed when it’s not.
And rest assured Lush doesn’t claim the American cream scent smells like strawberry either. I know because I’ve talked the the owner of lush about this very thing.
Now, onto what it DOES smell like, to most people, including myself. It smells like creamy vanilla, with a light whiff of herbal clary sage and a pinch of herb-y lavender.
Below i’ll list what is shown and what isn’t shown in my photo above.
From newest to oldest.
American Cream body conditioner (potted and solid)
Lush has opened up a new store in the Harajuku area of Japan. At this new, special store Lush will sell 35-50 exclusive bath bombs. One of these exclusive Japan Harajuku store bombs isMarshmallow World.
Its made with the popular scent of a Lush hair conditioner called ‘American Cream’, which is an herbal vanilla blend.
It’s made with strawberries for their skin properties , not for the primary scent. The scent is sage-which is a bitter herb-and vanilla, and we all know what vanilla smells like. So put bitter herbs and vanilla together with a bit of lavender, which is even more of an herbally flower, and you have the American Cream scent.
So you can see that it doesn’t smell like strawberries.
I like to stress this fact because i always see disappointed people writing lush comments like ‘but it doesnt smell like strawberries like some of your other strawberry scented things’.
Whew. Now that we have that out of the way 😉 let me talk about what this bomb looks like.
Marshmallow World is such a pretty bomb on the outside, with lovely pink and having purple and yellow striations. It pooks like an unfamilair but fun planet.
It fizzes and makes a baby pink foam and turns the water a light pink color. This bomb must have somethung special in it which is softening to the skin. It feels moisturizing a bit.
What a beautiful scent. While American Cream scent isn’t my favorite, i don’t hate it either by any means. Its a calming scent to me. I think its quite a meditative scent..with a teaspoon of yumminess thrown in.
Lush has made three other bath bombs in the past years with the American Cream scent with different names. But i must say this is the prettiest version.
It doesnt make full-on bath art per se, but it is still beautiful as it fizzes in the tub.
I would by one more but its not one i would stock up on like i did with some of the other community favorites/Japan store bombs like ‘Tender is the Night’, ‘The Comforter’, ‘Melusine’, ‘Golden Pear’.
My tub demo
If youre an American Cream lover than i suggest you stock up on these limited edition beauties!
Lush description: Indulge in a sugar bath scented with American Cream – you’ll get all of the sweet-shop glee and none of the post-binge guilt. Vanilla scented with a touch of strawberry, this multi-coloured marvel is a fiesta of fizz. Marshmallow powder soothes and softens, while granulated sugar adds a sugary flourish, you’ll smell good enough to eat!
Initially i rated it a 5 out of 5 but i will say that because of what a couple of my followers have stated, it’s best not to get this in sensitive areas as it can burn/sting quite a bit.
So because of that i changed my rating to 4 out of 5.
It’s still a great above average product.
Initially i thought this was some kind of scrubby shower soap, like a scrubbe smoothie. But upon using it in my demo i discovered that its not meant to wash with.
One washes first then uses this after rinsing your soap or shower gel off. Then you rinse it off. Its conditioning. Its very conditioning compared to rub rub rub.
This isnt a fine exfoliation, its a coarser consistency, so just fyi that as i know some of you don’t like a coarse scrub.
here is a video i recorded where i demo how to use it.
It diesnt smell particularly herbal considering there is a good amount of sage in here. I only smell mint. Its not extremely sweet.
Magic needn’t only be cast with a flick of a wand or a twitch of a nose, magic can come in a tub in the bathroom.
Hop in a hot shower and let the warm water dance across your skin before scooping out a handful of this scrub.
Warming and stimulating aniseed oil accompanies fine sea salt and Epsom salts to brighten, buff and polish skin while fresh rosemary and sage infusions cleanse and tone. Rinse off and let menthol crystals, peppermint and spearmint oils to leave cool tingles up and down your skin like the remnants of magic recently cast.
Review: Sex Bomb one is good for people who find it hard to get excited about any of the ballistics. It smells of tart-y perfume and the colors are vivid purple and bright pink mixing to a beautiful rose coral color. The little rice paper rose still makes me play with it everytime.
Tip: Take the rice paper out after about 45-60 seconds after it starts to “grow” and toss out, otherwise it might become the jellyfish looking slime rose after a couple of minutes.
Notes: Lush also made “Bada- Bing Bada- Boom” shower jelly in this same scent.

Lush.a.Lot’s Review: This was the shower jelly made which smells like the “Sex Bomb” ballistic. It’s a heady floral scented jelly.
Lush Times 2005 description: Bada Bing Bada Boom Shower Jelly is the ultimate in cold showers. Its sensual scents (the same essential oils as Sex Bomb) are blended with red wine and an infusion of rose petals, soothing lavender and stimulating thyme herb. Grab the Bada Bing from the freezer, clean your body with its cool lather and inhale the calming (aphrodisiac) jasmine, ylang ylang and clary sage perfumes. That should work just nicely.
Here’s a demo and review video i made of this jelly
Lush made this in the same blend as their popular liquid hair conditioner ‘American Cream’.
It smells like a vanilla milk shake. It’s only slightly sweet.
Review: This solid pink jelly has the scent of Lush’s “American Cream” hair conditioner. It smells even better than the hair conditioner in my opinion. I can actually smell the strawberry which isn’t as easy to pick out in the conditioner. Vanilla, lavender, sage, smells like a fresh milkshake.
Lush description: Vanilla and Clary sage shower jelly with a scent that makes people want to lick you all over. Freeze it, chill it, use it at bathroom temperature. Crush or stroke it all over your body and hair, lather and rinse out.
Description: Lush International (UK) has a party/contest for forum members. In this one in 2005, we were allowed to all vote for our favorite Lush products scent to be made for forum members into a Lush perfume, for that one time only. HIWTK won as well as Snowcake, Silky Underwear, American Cream, Potion and Fever. These were available in either 30g or 60g, in lovely Lush perfume bottles.
$40.00 30g or $60.00 for 60g
Review: This is one Lush perfume that lasts, you don’t have to re-apply like Potion say, HIWTK or Prince. I’m not complety nuts about the American Cream scent. I mean I like it, I use it. But it’s not like my favorite scent combo of all time so this would make it a three rating. This perfume did however get me more into the American Cream scent, and the perfume’s scent does last longer than most. This gets a 3 rating.
Here’s a short video i made showing american cream perfume
This bubble bar stands out to me as one i would take on a desert island. See my 3 minute video of it in the tub, it will BLOW your mind. Color, scent, this one has it all.
Lush Description: Sexy vanilla & soothing lavender bubbles with a swirl of pink flosty gritter (as spelled by Noriko).
Review: This is a lovely shade of bright pink. It has pinkish/purple glitter, but not too much. Mine was so soft and squishy and the vanilla milkshake scent of “American Cream” hair conditioner wafted up all around me in the tub. It’s funny how a scent can become better or worse to me depending on what the delivery mechanism of that scent is; bubble bar, soap, hair conditioner, etc. The American Cream scent of Clary sage, vanilla and lavender is so scrummy in bubble bar form. I was struck at how strong the scent was and that people would probably like this bubble bar alot. Flosty is sweet, foody, fresh, herbal, blended in such a wonderful way. And that fact that the bubble bar is covered in fushia glitter doesn’t hurt it’s ratings in my book. I didn’t think Flosty Gritter was going to impress me as much as it did. I also think that this is going to be a huge hit with the majority of Lush buyers. I’m not completly headover heels about the sage that’s in the American Cream scent, that’s the only reason I’m in the minority when I give this a 3. I’m surrounded by sage where I live and it grows wild in our yards. It’s a beautiful plant but the scent of sage isn’t one of my favorite smells.
This soap has thyme, sage and currants, and the fragrance is new, having myrrh, rosewood and opopomax. Tangy, fruity, herbal, earthy… I can’ stop sniffing this soap. The myrrh and the rosewood combo is calming to me. There’s a tiniest iota of sweetness from the myrrh, just enough to make it intriguing. Old school Lushies may like the earthy, blending of resinous, herbal, floral notes. I think of this as having a gender-neutral scent,
Lush description: It’s the time of the year for lathering earthy and herbal fresh sage and thyme infusion with festive, juicy redcurrants over skin. This mystical soap with precious myrrh resinoid is sure to set the cogs in motion to take you from Christmas into the new year in style.
