Play doze

Ingredients: Sodium Bicarbonate, Cream of Tartar (Tartaric acid), Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Lauryl Betaine, Cocamide DEA, Ylang Ylang Oil (Cananga odorata), Cardamom Oil (Elettaria cardamomum), Lavender Oil (Lavendula hybrida), Fennel Oil (Foeniculum vulgare), Perfume, Colour 59040.

Review: Lush made this for kids, to help calm them before bedtime. It’s a nuclear yellow green bar that makes nuclear yellow green water. Strong lovely lavender smell. This is fun and useful if you need bubbles that have lavender in them. We have French Kiss now but kids loved these, I guess it just wasn’t enough kids so they discontinued this one too. It was good for adults too I thought. Alo tof people didn’t like the color or they didn’t like the color on the tub afterwards or something. I never had a problem with it. I liked it.
Lush Times Spring 2004 description: A bright, BRIGHT bath for the over-energetic over-sevens to quieten them down for bedtime. Play Doze works in many ways. It is a shockingly bright, fluorescent yellow in colour; this is our secret plan to make children want to have it in their baths. In it, we mix up an effective blend of extremely calming essential oils – lots of lavender and ylang, waming cardamon and fennel to clear their busy heads – so that they will quieten down ready for bedtime. One for the kids and the over-grown kids that live inside all of us, Play Doze is a bright Fluorescent yellow Bubble Bar slice designed to clean and calm in equal measures. With lavender and ylang ylang to send your kids to sleep. (Recommended for over 7s). The bath water turns into such an amazing colour, you and your offspring will want to stay in the bath longer and get really clean, without any nagging from you. Tired grown-ups will find that it is superbly relaxing and a great way to get a good nights kip too.

Review: This is a smaller bomb. It smells like Lush “Dream Cream” body lotion, it’s soothing and calming to the body and the mind, because of the rose, chamomile and Lavender oil. Helps one sleep too.

Description: Chamomile & essential oils to calm seriously distressed skin and tempers.

This is a smaller bath bomb, for children. It has the same scent as the current tickle baby bot bath bomb that Lush sells now in stores. I once bought 30 of these at a time because i liked the scent so much; sandalwood, lavender, chamomile. I used these in my kids baths when they were little.

Happy for SAD

January 2022 originally it actually was ‘Happy 4 S.A.D.’ with the number 4.

S.A.D. stands for Seasonal Affective Disorder. A disorder that some people who live in certain more Northern places in the world like Alaska, New England, etc. can get because they get very little sun or if their body doesn’t make enough of the chemical that converts sunlight.

  • Low serotonin: Sunlight can help the body maintain typical serotonin levels, a chemical that helps regulate mood.
  • Low vitamin D: Exposure to sunlight also helps the body produce vitamin D, which boosts serotonin activity.
  • High melatonin: Melatonin is a hormone that helps coordinate the sleep-wake cycle.

So they get a kind of severe depression. To offset this depression, they will often be prescribed UV (Ultra Violet) therapy. The light that comes out of the UV machine is Purple.

$9.95 8.4oz (in 2004)

Review: Happy 4 S.A.D. shower gel is a deep purple colored gel, that smells like cheerful and yummy, fresh, peeled oranges with a fresh whiff of dove orchid. Fab. I LOVE that crazy ultraviolet color.

Be advised though, this shower gel can be quite thin. Ive had some bottles that are a normal shower gel consistency, and ive had some that have a thinner than normal, watery consistency.

Lush Times 2004 description: Sad bunnies in the northern hemisphere will need this most in January, February and March whilst misery kittens in the southern hemisphere will want it in July, August and September. Lack of sunshine can make us all feel a bit down in the dumps so at Lush central we’ve done our best to bottle it. Happy for SAD is an ‘ultra-violet’ colored shower gel (it’s very purple!) scented with a bunch of the cheery, stimulating essential oils. We have rose to restore happy feelings, uplifting, refreshing mandarin and a drop or two of the wonderful neroli, said to relieve tension and stress and give a feeling of euphoria to all who smell it. Whenever you feel the dull, dark days and long nights getting you down, get up with Happy for SAD.

In 2026 Lush made a Happy For S.A.D shower jelly as an exclusive in the monthly subscription box.

Here’s a demo video i made of this shower gel

This Lush bath bomb, ‘Shut Up and Get Over It’ (aka Jiggly’s Foxy Balls)’ was made in the same scent.

Olive Tree

3 out of 5

Here’s a demo video I made of my piece of Lush Olive Tree soap. Its a ‘gourmet soap’ from the Oxford Street Superstore, along with the other four or five gourmet soaps;

Holy Cacao!

Masai Lather

mallorquin

rose argan

drop of hope

Olive Tree isnt my favorite of the bunch but its nice.

Its got alot more moisturizing ingredients like olive oil in it than regular cold pressed or cold pour Lush soaps.

Mallorquin gourmet soap

4 out of 5 rating. See my sink demo video belowHere are the Lush gourmet soaps in their display area in the Lush Oxford Street superstore. Lush would cut off a piece however big you wanted to buy.

Gourmet soap’ These soaps are soft like Movis soap.  They are more moisturizing and have more butters and fine ingredients. Also, they use ingredients from ‘Masai’ for the ‘Masai Lather” soap for instance to give back to the local community commerce in these regions of the world.

The soap is very moist, and pliable. Its kindvof like Movis soap in consistency but with almond and more cocoa butter.

Here is the Oxford Street catalog with the gourmet soaps, including mallorquin, on the bottom of the left page.

Other Lush products below made in the same matching scent. Almond Blossom shower gel, Snowflake hand lotion, and Almond Blossom solid shower oil.

Happy Blooming jelly

5 out of 5 rating

See my video review below

it has a strong cherry fragrance. Some folks think it’s too sickly sweet or fake smelling. While it’s certainly strong it’s not a fake scent because it’s loaded with real cherries. And it also contains coconut.

This is made with cherry and coconut and smells SO. DAMN. GOOD.

I once bought 6 of these. The jelly is WAY more fragrant than the bath melt which came first.

These lush products in my photo below are all in the same scent family. The lotion, jelly and perfume were LushX limited edition community voted favorites.

I usually don’t like very sweet things from Lush, but in the case of Happy Blooming it seems to be beyond my control because my mouth actually starts watering when I smell it.

In my opinion, the jelly and the lotion are stronger in scent than the melt & the solid fragrance are.

Screamo bubble bar, Screamo bath bomb, Screamo shower gel all have the Happy Blooming scent.

Happy bubble bar

5 out of 5

It’s a gorgeous bar for sure. The fresh ones were bright turqoiuse blue and had golden dust on the one side near the stamped name “Happy”. It looked like verdi gris. Happy bubble bar has a lovely, strong orange scent. And there’s also sandalwood. Now orange with sandalwood. I’ve not heard of that particular combination before I don’t think in any lush products. The sandalwood changes this citrussy wonder. The sandalwood gives it a depth. Who knew? I highly recommend this lovely (scent and looks) bubble bar. It would go with the orangey “The Sicilian” bath bomb as they were both out at the same time at one point. Very pretty bubble bar color.

Ingredients: Tangerine Oil ,  Sandalwood Oil , Neroli Oil , Orange Blossom Oil , Perfume, Colour 42090, Gold PowderSodium Bicarbonate, Cream Of Tartar , Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Lauryl Betaine,Cocoamide DEA,

Times description: Our bright new turquoise blue Bubble Bar Slice is Happy by name and happy by nature, courtesy of a not inconsiderable helping of neroli oil concealed inside its attractive self. Neroli is a terrifyingly expensive essential oil, made from the flowers of the bitter orange tree, which has the ability to make people feel cheery and smile again. We add tangerine and orange blossom oils; they help too plus they are excellent skin conditioners (another reason to smile). Relaxing sandalwood gives a touch of spice to Happy’s fragrance and encourages a sense of well being. Well, what would you have called it?

Review: Happy soap is a lovely yellow and green soap with happy faces on the top of the big slab. It’s a medium-strong orangey scent. Orange and tangerine being very uplifting.

Notes: This goes well with the following orangey lush products: “Happy pill” ballistic, and Karma scented item, “You’ve Been Mangoed” bath melt, “The Olive Branch” shower gel, “Each Peach” massage bar, and Therapy massage bar.

Lush Times 2006 description: Happy Soap is a translucent orange soap decorated with smileys. Happy soap is toning for your skin and cheering for your mind. When your happy friends are around let them use it too. The world can do with a good dose of happiness.

Rose Jam jelly

5 out of 5 rating  See my demo and review video of this jelly below

Lush has made many products with their “Rose Jam’ scent, and this is my favorite of the bunch.  I never knew Rose Jam could be even better, as i thought it was already a perfect fragrance.  Somehow Lush made the shower jelly even more fragrant, and a wee bit sweeter, or seemingly to my nose, than other Rose Jam scented products.

I love the smell of this even more than the Lush Rose Jam perfume believe it or not.  Not only does this jelly’s gorgeous fragrance stay on my skin long after i’ve taken a shower, but it’s more moisturizing than other Lush jellies because of the argan oil in this jelly.

Here’s a short demo video i made of this jelly

See my Twilight Jelly page too!

Twilight jelly

5 out of 5 rating See my close up demo & review video of this jelly below on the page.

The Lush.co.uk site made these ”Twilight” jellies for one day only and I was lucky enough to buy a couple. Lush made this jelly in their popular ‘Twilight’ bath bomb fragrance, which Has Lavender, and a creamy tonka bean note.

I love that Lush made these jellies in pink and blue. They’ve never done this two-color thing with a jelly.  I believe these colors were used because the Twilight Bath bomb emits pink and blue colors while dissolving in the bath.

Lush also makes a “Twilight” shower gel and a perfume that i have in the ‘Twilight’ scent and has made a liquid spray perfume in this scent as well.

An all natural scent of fresh lavender, creamy, vanillary tonka bean, and ylang ylang, coming from fresh ingredients. I got my order on Sept 6.

The Twilight bath bomb

Twilight on the left

To me the Twilight scent is even better in the jelly form.  It’s sweeter, creamier, and a bit more ylang ylang floral than in thr twilight bath bomb or shower gel.  And another plus is that this lovely scent actually stays on the skin a longer than average amount of time. This is great.

Here’s a 6 minute video with music of it close up to see the shimmer. I wash my hands with it and chop it up, etc.

since then lush has made sooo many different oroducts with this scent.

Vit C toner tabs

Wow. The scent is lovely. It’s kind of like the lovely scent Eau Roma rose and lavender toner water in scent,  but the scent of “C” has more depth. Aromatherapy-wise Vit C was calming to me, and the same ingredients when on my face made my skin glow and feel clean and it definitely felt more rejuvinated. A lovely fresh rose and sandalwood scent…Mmm. It was absolutely a delight for my skin. A great treat for my face. 4 stars.

Lush 2008 description; The Vitamin C Tab gives you a beneficial steam clean with restorative, skin softening rose and anti-oxidant vitamin C to trounce free radicals. This is the Toner Tab for older faces, the one we designed for ourselves so people keep on saying, “You`re how old! Never!” and making us smile.

Ingredients; Sodium Bicarbonate , Citric Acid , Vitamin C Powder , Sandalwood Oil, Cedarwood Oil , Rose Absolute, Olibanum Resinoid, Organic Strawberry flour, Perfume.

Hot to use: Make a container of hot water, get a towel large enough to drape over your head and face, throw in a toner tab.

Now put your face over the hot water, put the towel over your head and steam your face with the hot toner water.

At his point you can do various things with the water after steaming;

1. set the water aside for later or decant it into a plastic spray bottle.

2. you can use it to splash your face or dip a washcloth in the hot water and use it to clean your face after the steaming.

3. you can use the water to rinse your face off after cleansing at another time.

Golden Egg (new version vs. original version)

2 out of 5 for the new 2021 golden egg

5 out of 5 for the original 2014-2020 golden egg

The 2021 version is here in this video where i recorded my bath with one. I explain why i don’t like the newer version.

I have a video of the original golden egg on the bottom of this page.

This is the 2021 version

This is the original 2014-2020 version

Golden Egg is made with the Lush ‘Honey I Washed the Kids’.scent. Bergamot and orange oil mix to make a scent that smells exactly like toffee. So yummy smelling. It makes gold glittery water. Its a very pooular bath bomb, thats why it has came out every year for the past 8-10 years. I love it!

Here’s a video Tub Demo and review i made of golden egg. 😊
