Lush Lime Smoothie

4 out of 5 rating

There are Lush smoothies i like more than lush lime and lush smoothies that i like less than lush lime.

Lush Lime has the same scent as the Lush ‘karo-karounde’ bath bomb.

Ingredients: fresh butternut squash infusion, glycerine, olive oil, almond oil, vegetable soap, fresh lime juice, sodium lauryl sulphate, fresh strawberry juice, grapefruit oil, karo-karounde absolute, perfume

Pokey stick of doom thickness test: http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y181/l … ystick.jpg

Review: Wow. While Whitewash and Turkish Delight still wins because of the consistency, Lush Lime is my pick for one of the best smelling Lush smoothies. I couldn’t wait to hold it up to my husbands nose so he could smell how wonderful it is and at last agree with me. He said it smelled medicinal and weird. I smell limes, limes, and more wonderful limes. Sweet tangy tart fresh and the consistency is not as stiff as Lush Turkish Delight and Whitewash, it’s more of a thinner consistency like Creamed Almond and Coconut smoothie.

The pic has a spoonful of it for a thickness test of sorts. It looks exactly like Creme Fraiche. I’m so hooked on the smell though, and it leaves skin soft. How do they do it?

LT 1998 description: The fresh fruit juicy Lush Lime Smoothie gets your body squeaky clean while the oils of almond and olive smooth and relax. A true joy to use, as the scents of strawberry, grapefruit, and karo-karounde refresh you and the bathroom.

Slammer

3.5 out of 5 rating

Slammer was a bath bomb first in the early 2000’s.

Whenever i buy a new lushshower gel or jelly I like to take a pic of my it on my dining room table where the sun comes through in the morning, because the light coming through it makes them look like jewels..
the consistency of the 2024 Lush kitchen slammer is thinner than i remember it being.

lemon Peel Decoction (Citrus limetta), Fresh Scottish Sea Water, Fresh Lime Juice, Honey (Mel), Lime Oil, Rock Salt, Litsea Cubeba Oil, Lemon Oil, Perfume.

Review: I think the lemon in this smells too strong to me. I like Back for Breakfast shower gel more. Slammer is the best for waking up it’s said. Lush made this shower gel to be the same as their once loved “Slammer” ballistic. It’s a popular shower gel , some say the Slammer scent smells like a margarita. The guys would like this Slammer gel too as it’s a neutral scent. It’s got just the right amount of sweetness. Smells kind of like lime and lemon punch.

Lush 2005 Description: If Back For Breakfast is too soft for you then Slammer will be your shower gel of choice. It metamorphosed not long back from a Bath Bomb to a shower gel because the kind of people likely to need a Slammer alarm call do not always have time for a bath in the morning. (Although it does a very good job as a bubble bath for those too tired to stand up.) You may notice, those of you who like the odd tequila cocktail, that our Slammer, with its fresh lime juice and rock salt, bears a certain resemblance to another sort of slammer. Those of you who are partial to the other sort of slammer in the evening will probably need a bottle of ours to get you through the morning.

Here is my Slammer bath bomb. The bomb came first then a few years later the shower gel.

Lush Discontinued 2020!

Here’s a video i made about this.

“When the word “discon” ripples around there’s always a sharp intake of breath as people wonder if their favourite will have its fate sealed. We all have our hero products and stories of heartbreak when something treasured has slipped out of production.

As we look towards a future, lockdown presented an opportunity for Mark Constantine to reflect on the present and try every product again and again to get a better understanding of what we are offering. Backed by The Secret Masterplan there were clear criteria:

  • Does it serve customer’s needs?
  • Is it number one in its category?
  • Is it part of a cosmetic revolution?

12 weeks, 116 days and a lot of 4pm baths later a clear idea was forming, and with review from Lush analysts, there is a list.

There are bound to be some disappointments but far many more opportunities as we make room to create things that are best in their class – fewer products, that give you better results.

We have a dedicated team of product inventors bursting with ideas that will knock your socks off. For sneak peeks and all the BTS action of what’s to come (make sure you check out our inventor’s social media profiles) and check out #lushcommunity. “

It will take a while before these are all gone, but as always at Lush nothing is often gone forever. The newly launched Kitchen subscription box is not only a monthly delivery of retro favourites and some surprises, but also offers subscribers a chance to vote on the contents, so maybe your favourite will be back sooner than expected

Beauty Sleep

5 out of 5 rating.

See my video below where i apply it and review it.

Mark Constantine, owner of Lush Uk wanted to have a little fun so he decided to work with Helen Ambrosen on a new face and body mask.

They made it by adding a teaspoon of their ‘Gorgeous’ moisturizer and then they added the ingredients to ‘Sleepy’, Lavender, Yang ylang and Tonka.

when they finalized the product he announced that they will let us have a crack at naming the product. So people submitted they’re names and a handful of people chose ‘Beauty Sleep’ and this is the name that won.

it’s a perfect name. the mask smells amazing! if you know what the gorgeous moisturizer smells like you can imagine that plus sleepy.

instructions recommend slathering it on your face and your arms, neck, chest, back, stomach and then let it stay on your skin for 10-20 minutes while you’re in the tub or in the shower. Then after that time just rinse it off.

it’s got ground aduki beans for exfoliating and it’s LOADED with many moisturizing ingredients.

it’s a beautiful pinkish lavender color.

“Aluxurious clay face mask, which includes a spoonful of our most decadent moisturiser, Gorgeous, for a boost of hydration. The perfect step in your evening skincare routine, to help you #getyourbeautysleep.

“The combination of lavender and neroli is even more soothing than I anticipated. I noticed a significant improvement in my stress level within minutes. Skin feels soft and smooth afterwards. – bethanyjoyhall

“From its lavender and neroli scent that calms the mind…to its freshly ground Aduki beans, fresh coconut, honey, kaolin, and talc which calm and soothe the skin-this face mask is a 10/10 for me! It left my skin feeling calm, moisturized, and toned all at once.” – LaredoLushies

For a limited time, enjoy a deluxe sample of our Gorgeous moisturiser with every purchase of Beauty Sleep face mask*

As part of this purchase, all customers will receive an email with exclusive access to our special mindfulness meditation led by Mindfulness practitioner, Rose Eskafi, free of charge, to calm the mind and help you soon drift off to sleep.

*While stocks last. Sample size is 7g.

How to use
Run a warm bath, put on some relaxing music and apply this beautiful face mask to clean skin. Sit back and relax. Inhale the neroli and let the valerian and lemon verbena get to work. Once you’re feeling relaxed and ready for bed, rinse away with warm water.

Lo and Behold when those of us who bought the Lush Kitchen subscription box from Lush Uk opened up our June boxes we found a surprise: a container of Beauty Sleep face and body mask. Yay!

List of ingredients

As far as Lush masks go i really like this one. it made my skin feel cleansed and moisturized and it smelled gorgeous. Using it before bed was a good idea since the ingredients in ‘Sleepy’ (twilight) are conducive to sleep.

Here’s my unboxing video

Dreamwash smoothie

3 out of 5 rating

Its in the same ecent family as ‘In The Nude’ bath melt and ‘Fresh Farmacy’ facial wash.

Website: Soothing shower soap to calm red, dry skin. Dreamwash is like Fresh Farmacy combined with Dream Cream to make the perfect Smoothie for troubled skin. Dreamwash is incredibly mild and actively soothing – wonderful for skin which has a habit of going flaky and red when you touch it with anything but plain water. We mix chamomile with calamine, calming aloe vera and rose, tea tree, lavender essential oils. It works very well, if we say it ourselves.

This is my least favorite smoothie that Lush makes only because of the somewhat medicinal scent. I dont have particularly sensitive skin, but for those that do this smoothie is a godsend.

Its made with skin soothing ingredients.

Ingredients: Water (Aqua), Calamine Powder, Organic Aloe Vera Gel (Aloe barbadensis), Water (Aqua), Rapeseed Oil; Sunflower Oil; Coconut Oil (Brassica napus; Helianthus annuus; Cocos nucifera), Glycerine, Sodium Stearate, Sodium Hydroxide, Rose Absolute (Rosa damascena), Chamomile Oil (Anthemis nobilis), Tea Tree Oil (Melaleuca alternifolia), Lavender Oil (Lavandula augustifolia), Sodium Chloride, *Linalool, Perfume

Freeze

4 out of 5 rating

Heres a pic below i took of the one i used in 2004

Vegan 8.4oz

Ingredients: Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Fresh Spring Water (Aqua), Fresh Scottish Sea Water (Aqua), Sodium Cocoamphoacetate, Aloe Vera Gel (Aloe barbadensis), Sea Salt (Sodium chloride), Perfume, Peppermint Oil (Mentha piperita), Bergamot Oil (Citrus bergamia), Orange Oil (Citrus dulcis), Colour 42045, Methylparaben, Propylparaben.

Review: Woo! That’s the way it feels. Powerfully minty with a teeny weeny bit of citrus. Its kind of a sweet mint, more sweet than ‘Dirty’ not as herbally as ‘Dirty’. It’s fabulous in the morning or when it’s hot and muggy outside. Oh and ladies, some (not everyone) find it uncomfortable for sensitive areas.

Lush 2005 Description: Peppermint has this amazing quality of making your feel cool when you’re hot and warm when you’re cold. When you’re in a warm shower and you put a dollop of Freeze Shower Gel on your body it gives you a refreshing, tingly feeling all over. Peppermint has been used for thousands of years to help the skin stay soft and the mind stay focused. One view is that it was named ‘mente’ meaning thought because it is said to help concentration and inspiration. If you lack either of these, try making Freeze your morning shower gel and shampoo of choice.

Lush made Ice Blue shampoo (and another shower gel also called Ice Blue) in the same exact scent, also with orange oil, bergamot and peppermint.

Years later lush made Freeze body scrub for their January 2025 monthly subscription box.

Heavanilli

5 out of 5 rating

Lush Times: Sweet delicious Vanilla Fountain fragrance – tonka bean, jasmine and heaps of vanilla absolute. At the time of writing, we’ve not had the chance to put this to a real live test; we’ve used it on our arms in the creative team meeting, sniffed it with enthusiasm and longing, but as yet, we haven’t been able to take them home with us, smooth them all over our lovers’ bodies to see what happens next. Heavanilly’s melty butters smell of sensual jasmine, vanilla and tonka – and cinder toffee – so we can guess.

Ingredients: Cocoa Butter, Fair Trade Shea Butter, Extra Virgin Coconut Oil, Perfume, Vanilla Absolute, Jasmine Absolute, Tonka Absolute, Hydroxycitronellal, Gardenia Extract, Colour 73360

I love this massage bar. Out of the 60 or so different Lush massage bars, Heavanilli is one of my favorites. Its made in the Lush ‘Vanillary’ perfume fragrance. Lush has made many products with this popular perfume scent.

I would recommend it. I enjoy using it and Its one that i would buy again and again.

I took a photo below of some Vanillary scent family members 😊

Creamed Almond & Coconut Smoothie

3.5 out of 5.0 rating

Ingredients: Vanilla Pod Infusion (Vanilla planifolia), Almond Oil (Prunus dulcis), Glycerine, Sodium Palm Kernelate, Coconut Oil (Cocos nucifera), Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Vanilla Extract (Vanilla planifolia), Ylang Ylang Oil (Cananga odorata), Jasmine Absolute (Jasminum officinale), Labdanum Resinoid (Cistus labdanum), Sodium Chloride, EDTA, Tetrasodium Editronate, Perfume, Methylparaben, Propylparaben

Lush Times 2005 description: The Creamed Almond and Coconut Smoothie Shower Soap is more of a mousse in texture than a cream, if you want to get technical about it. Dip your fingers into the pot and scoop it out and it sits there, scented with sensual jasmine, calming ylang ylang and gentle vanilla, waiting to be applied to your body to clean it, moisturize it with almond and coconut oils and perfume it with the all of the above plus deep, divinely scented labdanum. After washing, don’t waste it, wear something revealing.

Size: 8.8 oz.

Review: This is subtley nice. It’s a mellow scent like King of Skin or Sympathy for Skin, it’s lighter and thinner than the other smoothies but the smells is creamy and nice, and it feels nice. Its more almond-y than coconut-y.

I absolutely LOVE the Lush smoothies. They just might be my favorite alternative to soap product. Theyre so easy to use. And tgey feel WONDERFUL. Other Lush smoothies, like Scrumptious, whitewash, lime, are my favorites before almond coconut one though.

I like it and would use it but i wouldnt buy another one, Whereas i would buy the other Lush smoothies again.

They should not use “coconut” in the name because it’s really all about almond. I understand that coconut is part of the ingredient but common reflex is to think that the name is somehow related to the scent but here that’s not the case. I think it smells more like the nutts massage bar. Texture is creamy nice though. Easy to use an apply.

AbombinaBall shower jelly

5 out of 5 rating.

See my demo video of it below.

Lush made this rare, eexclusive shower jelly specifically for the May 2020 Lush Kitchen Subscription Box. This product has never been made before.

Lush has made a bath bomb called ‘Abombinaball’. The name is a play on the word abominable, as in The Abominable Snowman, but spelled A-Bomb-in-a-Ball.

It was such a special, limited edition bath bomb from 2009, and the first incarnation of the Lush Kitchen re-made this wonderful bomb for one day only. They remade the bath bomb again recently in January 2020 in the Lush Uk community favorites which is where i got the one for this photo.

The AbombinaBall shower jelly smells just as lovely and yummy as the popular limited edition bath bomb: like creamy, sweet vanilla ice cream with mint.

The shower jelly is nice and strongly scented.

Like the bath bomb the shower jelky has a blue green shimmery tone through it. Gorgeous!

There are different ways to use Lush shower jellies. Ive recorded demo videos showing how to cut slices off for use at the sink like soap. Ive ecen shown how they can be used as shampoo on your hair. It can also be used whole to rub on your body in the shower.

Additionally you can dice some of the jelly up and out it in a small kitchen seive, holding the seive in the falling water stream when filling the tub and a rich lovely bath foam will be created from the shower jelly.

I love everything about this exclusive shower jelly. The yummy scent, the way it feels, and the look of it. I would buy more than one if i could, so i would give this a 5 out of 5 rating.

This is my favorite product from the May 2020 Lush Kitchen subscription box.

Supertramp shower gel

4 out of 5 rating.

This shower gel.is exclusive to the Lush Uk Kitchen subscription box.

Its actually made by combining two existing Lush products: ‘Tramp’ and ‘Smaragadine‘.

Tramp is a old lush favorite shower gel that smelled very earthy like a fairy glade. Its main scent notes were patchouli and oakmoss.

Smaragadine was an even older product from their B Never Too Busy boutique that was a liquid bubble bath made with mint, lavender, rose petal, sandalwood, orange peel, chamomile, petitgrain and ginger.

Ingredients: White Horehound and Peppermint Leaf Infusion, Balm Herb, Rose Petal and Lavender Flower Infusion, Water, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Sodium Cocoamphoacetate, Lauryl Betaine, Propylene Glycol, Fine Sea Salt, Organic Orange Peel Decoction, Patchouli Oil, Petitgrain Oil, Pimento Berry Oil, Sandalwood Oil, Ginger Oil, Plantain Vinegar Gel, Perfume, Methyl Ionone, Eugenol, *Limonene, Linalool, Chlorophyllin, Methylparaben. * Occurs naturally in essential oils

Review: Thick, green and mossy. Doubles as a bubble bath. Very burnt-patchouli/clove scented; if you like the Blue Skies and Fluffy White Clouds bubble bar, you’ll probably like Supertramp. Scent lingers on the skin for hours after showering. I like it. For reference it’s a heavier more complex scent than Lush ‘Grass’, which is also a popular green scent.

Lush Kitchen description: An earthy, mystical shower gel that smells like wandering through tall dark pine trees in an enchanted forest over a cool soft carpet of moss. With horehound to cleanse the skin, peppermint to add a warming, fresh top note and the sensual, floral scents of lavender and rose.

Below is a scent family photo (cousins) i took of the Supertramp products below. The Supertramp extra large bubble bar was only available at the Lush Oxford Street store initially.

So Supertramp has all of these notes from the products in the pic above. Its a multi layered, spa type of scent. The Supertramp shower gel is a dark green, thick gel that is calming and soothing.

I would say that it’s one of the best green, earthy shower gels that Lush has made, along with tramp, smaragadine, serpentine, grass, Green day, Go green, Green Green bath of foam, etc.

Its a unisex scent that would be liked by both men and women.

The Supertramp in this Lush Kitchen Subscription box in the pic above is the regular 250g Medium size.

I would recommend it and would buy another one if i had the chance.

Heres a video i recorded of the Supertramp shower gel https://youtu.be/3KzOaX_lBlw

Vanilla Dee-Lite

vanillary scent

Lush Times Online: Delightfully soothing, creamily smoothing, vanilla scented lotion for your body and hands. The Lush body creams that come in black pots are the thicker ones; the lighter ones, like Vanilla Delite, turn up in bottles. (100% recycled of course.) It’s been named Delite instead of Delight as a joke, not to annoy the writing team. The important thing is that it’s made with lovely light oils and butters – including Hawaiian tamanu and monoi – organic coconut water and Simon’s Vanilla Mountain scent! Use it to scent and soften your skin.

Ingredients: Hibiscus Infusion (Hibiscus sabdariffa), Spring Water, Pure Organic Coconut Water (Cocos nucifera), Extra Virgin Coconut Oil (Cocos nucifera), Stearic Acid, Cocoa Butter (Theobroma cacao), Fresh Kiwi Fruit (Actinidia chinensis), Glycerine, Triethanolamine, Illipe Butter (Shorea stenoptera), Vanilla Absolute (Vanilla planifolia), Jasmine Absolute (Jasminum grandiflorum), Tonka Absolute (Dipteryx odorata), Tamanu Oil (Calophyllum inophyllum), Cetearyl Alcohol, *Coumarin, Hydroxycitronellal, Perfume, Methylparaben, Propylparaben * Occurs naturally in Essential Oils

Quinquireme of Ninevah

Ingredients: vegetable soap, water, propylene glycol, coconut, sodium stearate, sodium lauryl sulphate, titanium dioxide, perfume, orange oil, benzoin, vanilla absolute

Review: QofN was the sort of precursor to the present ‘I Should Coco” soap by Lush. The difference is that this doesn’t have the scratchy, exfoliating dessicated coconut. This is a creamy soap that smells more of Lushious coconut than I Should Coco soap in my opinion. I’m not cazy about coconut, there are times when I hate coconut. So I’m picky about coconut scented products. But this Quinquireme of Ninevah soap adds oranfe which makes it more complex and lovely. is one I do indeed like to use. Not bad, being that it’s a coconut soap. I would think the majority of people would find this to be a 4 star soap.

Lush Times description: Q of N is a creamy, smooth cocnut scented soap made in 35 kg block with two rope handles so it can be carried with dignity to its destination within Lush shops. Inspired by the poem by John Masefield, in which he describes the Quinquereme’s cargo of precious oils and spices. Some of which we used in the soap’s coconut based perfume. We’ll cut you a 100 g slice from one of these precious cargoes to bring a hint of the exotic Middle East of times gone by to your very own wash basin.

Karma bath melt pyramid

5 out of 5 rating

Ive taken a few photos of the Karma bath melts that ive used over the years below.

30g

Karma scent

Ingredients: Cocoa Butter. Laureth 4, Gold Sparkles, Almond Oil, Perfume, Patchouli Oil , Orange Oil , Lavendin Oil , Pine Oil , Lemongrass Oil , Elemi Oil , Gardenia Extract.

Review: This is a pyramid shaped (the one on the left is a little less pyramid-like LOL), it has gold glitter and smells of Lush’s signature “Karma” scent. This is a wonderful smelling and skin softening melt. It has tns of cocoa butter. You simply put it in the bath water after it’s filled and it melts with the hot water and leaves little trails of beautiful golden glitter. You can also smoosh it up under the running water while the bath is filling up too. It’ll work either way. But beware…it has LOADS of glitter. You will have glitter everywhere (including your friends clothing, your dog and your husband) for a couple of days. I loved this melt and I wish it were still around.

Yuletide 2001 Lush Times description: Fake perfumes are so good these days that city dwellers have almost lost the ability to appreciate real scents what with the synthtic smells of coffee, bread and burgers pumped out to attract us to use their sources. There are some very beautiful synthetic perfumes (and there’s even one in Karma) but we prefer the real thing, perfumes made from flowers just like the great, great, great, great, great grandfather would have done if he hadn’t been too busy diggeing coal. Why? Because we don’t just use them for the scent; we use them for the effect on the mind and body. This is why a Bath Melt scented with Karma is so lovely; it softens and moisturizes your skin as well as scenting it. Try our new little pyramid of perfume in your bath and feel what we mean….

Two pics ive taken with all the products with the Karms scent. Both photos show the Karma bath melt gold pyramid.

My video of this in the bath

Lemon Days and Ginger Beer

Ingredients: Sodium Bicarbonate, Citric Acid, Lemon Peel, Powdered Ginger, Perfume, Ginger Oil,  Mimosa Absolute, Red Mandarin Oil, Sandalwood Oil, Geranium Oil , Bergamot Oil, Gardenia Extract , Colour 19140.

Review: This ballistic was discontinued about as quickly as it came out. Loads of people liked it on the forum but I guess it just didn’t sell at all and was pulled a few months after introduction. It smells like the perfume Ginger, highly floral rose but it has a strong lemony top note also. I wouldn’t normally like this combo but Lush also includes Sandalwood, Mimosa (like is in 17 Cherry Tree Lane soap and Sakura ballistic) , and also some red mandarin oil. So while i don’t hate it, i don’t love it either. It’s quite strong when fresh and the red mandarin orange oil and sandalwood is covered up by the fresh ginger and lemon scent, but when this ballistic mellows a bit it’s lovely. It makes bright yellow water. 3 stars.

Lush Times 2004 Description: How about a jolly bathtime adventure with lashings of ginger and lemon? Drop into a pre-run bath for a refreshing ginger fizz and lemonade experience.

Waving Not Drowning

3 out of 5 rating

Ingredients: Sodium Bicarbonate, Citric Acid, Lavender Oil, Fennel Oil, Cardamom Oil, Ylang Ylang Oil, Perfume, D&C Violet No. 2.

Review: This smaller bath bomb (70g) was a long timer in the Lush product line for some years. This is a small bomb but the scent is not small, it’s got a strong lavender scent with a wee bit of a fennel bite to it. This was one of the only bath bombs back then that had lavender in it. When i need some relaxing WnD always did the job. If this was a regular sized bomb it would probably be a four star for me.

Waving Not Drowing, being an old skool bomb fizzes very loudly and quickly before its gone. it tints the water a pale lavender color.

Lush Times 2006 description: Can’t sleep? Won’t sleep? The Waving not Drowning’s essential oils give strength and courage to the weak and fatigued then dispatch you to the land of nod. Keep several in stock for emergencies, jet lag, and 3 a.m. insomnia cures.

Lush: How To Use: Fill bath tub and drop bomb into water. For those bath bombs containing flower petals or other surprises, wrap the bath bomb in a nylon before use. To make your experience even more memorable, combine a bath bomb with a bath melt.
