Sink into the lilac-hued waters of this floral classic. Posies of violet and spicy clove fragrance and soften your skin. The Ancient Greeks used violets in love potions and considered it a symbol of fertility and love – why not be seduced by this sweet, purple bath?
Before this bubble bar existed there was a liquid bubbke bath called Bathos which had the same scent as the bubble bar that came later but the liquid one was dark green. And before that they had a bath bomb called Bathosphere around 1999 or so which was green and had the same scent.
You’ll love this if you like:
– Swirly purple-hued baths that smell like violet flavoured sweets.
– The scent of Daddy-O shampoo, Sugar Daddy-O solid conditioner, or Kerbside Violet perfume. – Taking time to appreciate the small, fleeting moments in life.
Benefits:
– Violet leaf has anti-inflammatory and antiseptic effects on the skin.
– The scent of violets help to settle your mood and mind, aiding restful sleep.
– Ylang ylang oil helps to reassure and uplift, leaving you feeling happy and carefree.
How to use: Crumble under running water to fill your bath with purple rain and fluffy white bubbles. How to store: Keep in a cool, dry place to keep this potent bubble bar ultra-violet.
The classic spicy “Bathos” bubble bar gives great looking, deep purple water. It has the strong scent of sweet violets and spicy cloves. Barthes is VERY fragrant. There’s also a teeny bit of dark green glitter on the top. This bubble bar can stand alone without being combined with anything, however, if one wanted a violet theme you could use a violety “Ne Worry Pas” ballistic, wash my hair with the violet smelling “Daddyo”, rub some “Choco La La” massage bar on, and condition my hair with “Retread”.
Lush has made a liquid Bathos bubble bath in the past. It’s green. I’ll add that to my blog tomorrow.
Sometimes I like to go the “all purple” route, too and have Bathos with a Lush Jingle Spells bath bomb or a Lush Blackberry Bomb.
Lush Times 2006 Description: If you prefer to keep your bath to yourself and wouldn’t dream of allowing anyone else anywhere near the bathroom when you’re in there naked, please don’t allow the following suggestion to detract from your enjoyment of a bubbly, mauve Bathos bath. If you prefer to share your bath for reasons of ecological soundness or just plain fun, then Bathos is absolutely ideal! We make it with some of most sensual, relaxing essential oils on the planet, including lots of violet leaf which is reputed to help people remember why they got together in the first place. Don’t put one of these in the bath in the morning on a workday. Save it for later.
4 out of 5 rating. See my 2 minute Tub Demo and review video below
I LOVE this new scent that Lush has created.
Theyve used it for Christmas in the Gingerbread Man Sparkle Jar, which im obsessed with.
Here’s my tub demo video, check out the glitter!
This is a reusable bubble bar, meaning you can use it more than once.
This was made with the yummy Gingerbread Sparkle jar scent. Its NOT the Lush floral ‘Ginger’ scent. This is a spicy yummy, Christmassy gingerbread scent.
If you have sore muscles or are cold this would be a good bath product to use because the ginger in this is nice and warming on the skin.
The bubble bar produces lots of bubbles.
You can use it for more than one bath but i used a whole one for my demo.
I love the gold shade water it makes, and i also love the gold sparkle it has too!
I stayed a little longer than i usually do in the bath just because of the therapuetic benefits of the ginger.
I would rate this a 4 out of 5. If it was a non-reusable, softer, smooshy type of lush bubble bar i would give it a 5 out of 5.
5 out of 5 rating.
See my demo video and how to use video below
This smells so spicy and amazing. Its not the floral lush ginger fragranc, thank goodness, No this Gingerbread man sparkle jar has a real holiday gingerbread goodness scent.
This is another knock out wonderful product from Lush for Christmas.
i love the two products in one concept of the Lush ‘sparkle jars’.
what they are are little gorgeous containets made out of solid massage jar mixture and inside of it is dusting powder in the same fragrance!
Lush description The secret to soft skin? Okay, I’ll tell you. Do you know the muffin man? The muffin man? The muffin man. Yes, I know the muffin man, who lives on Drury Lane? Well, when you’re feeling in need of an extra festive treat, poke holes into this Gingerbread Man’s buttons and dust yourself all over to leave skin feeling silky and smooth. After the dusting powder is all used up, the Fair Trade organic cocoa butter pot can be massaged in, to moisturise and soften while clove bud and ginger oils keep you feeling warm, cosy and smelling of Christmas baking.
As I crumbled the soft deep orange bar with a paper flag of differing countries embedded in it, I smelled a wonderfully spicy blend of what smelled to me like oranges, peppermint or eucalyptus, and some eastern Indian spices. When I got in the water, this is a bar that I could feel working on my sore muscles in seconds. The smell and the feeling of the bars ingredients reminded me of the now discontinued Lush ballistic “Fizzy O’Therapy”, which had mustard seed oil in it. But Marathon is better. During this bath I wondered if this Marathon bar had mustard oil as well and apparently so. This bar makes a very noticeable difference with regard to sore muscles and being achey. If you’ve just run a Marathon or done any work that makes your muscles achey and sore, Marathon is a great one to have around. It reminds me of the feeling of that old nasty aching muscles rub called “Deep Heat”, not the smell but the way it made your muscles heat up in a very noticeable way? Yep. Marathon smells like…Fizzy O’Therapy ballistic. I can still feel it’s effects and it’s been an hour since I got out of the tub. It’s heating properties keep going even after the bath. Because of attractiveness, bath water color, and mostly the way it works, this bubble bar gets 4 stars from me.
Notes: “Marathon” and “Wiccy Magic Muscles” cinnamon and mint massage bar are a team for sore muscles.
Lush Times Summer 2006 description: Refreshing, warming minty bubbles to help you warm down after exercise. Crumble under running bath water for mounds of fragrant bubbles.
It has the Lush “Snow Fairy” scent.
An exfoliating Pumice soap to remove ingrained dirt.
Cold-pressed means no heat was used to bind the fresh ingredients together.
The lack of heat helps the oils retain all of their fragrance and fresh nutrients.
The water is a GORGEOUS shade of emerald green with silver glitter.
Lush description
Come on in out of the cold and wrap yourself up in this comforting Christmas blanket of a bubble bar. Break the generously-sized pudding into two and crumble under running water. Its festive spice fragrance is like bathing in a hot toddy, perfect for getting you in the Christmas spirit.
Review: The silver glitter coating knocks me out! 🙂 I loved bathing in this fragrant bath. The deep, Emerald green color of the water was amazing, but the smell was as good or better! And it has shimmery glitter for sparkling emerald green. It’s so huge, weighty and a bit bigger in circumfrence than a regular sized bubble bar. It smells Spicy and warm like the drink Hot Toddy. This goes well with other Lush products like Hot Toddy shower gel, and the hot toddy scented Lush “Melting Snowman” bath melt.
Here’s a photo i took, and below is a video i made of this beauty in the bath, you have to see how green it is. This has the “Hot Toddy’ scent.
